Racing legends reveal the thrill of ‘Motor Racing in the 1970s’ at the Credit Suisse Historic Racing Forum

A full house of VIPs and members of the media flocked to the iconic Race Control building at Goodwood Revival on Saturday 14 September 2019 for the highly anticipated Credit Suisse Historic Racing Forum.

Before track action officially got under way, the star-studded panel of Derek Bell MBE, Jochen Mass, Alain de Cadenet and Professor Gordon Murray CBE shared their memories of the 1970s. The racing legends provided a unique insight from the perspectives of driver, designer and team owner.

Goodwood to host most valuable motor race in the World

The 20th anniversary of the Goodwood Revival will play host to perhaps the most expensive motor race ever held. Thirty pre-1963 GT cars, with a combined value approaching £200 million, will assemble on the Goodwood Motor Circuit for the Kinrara Trophy on the evening of Friday 7 September. Once the flag drops, they will race for 60 minutes, through sunset and into dusk.

Twenty magnificent years of the Goodwood Revival – 2018 highlights preview

From September 7-9, 2018, Goodwood will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Revival. The hallowed Motor Circuit will once again come alive to the sights and sounds of the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s. Visitors will enjoy world-class historic racing, stunning air displays, music, dancing, vintage fashion shows, and a nostalgic fun-fair.

Jenson Button to join JD Classics for two races in 2018

– 2009 Formula One World Champion, Jenson Button, will be driving two races with historic motorsport experts, JD Classics, in 2018
– Button will be racing a JD Classics-prepared XJR-9 at Le Mans Classic in July and another JD Classics entry at Goodwood Revival in September
– Button is one of the most experienced drivers to have ever raced in F1, with 306 race starts for Williams, Benetton, Renault, BAR, Honda, Brawn and McLaren
– JD Classics is a main sponsor of both the Goodwood Revival and Le Mans Classic

JD Classics triumphs at Goodwood Revival with a win and two podium finishes

• JD Classics took a win and two second-place finishes at the legendary Goodwood Revival, including an incredible last-to-first finish in the Freddie March Memorial, subsequently demoted to second
• The JD Classics Historic Racing Department took victory in the Whitsun Trophy, in a Ford GT40
• The team’s Lightweight E-Type just missed its third consecutive RAC TT Celebration victory, finishing second after a 30-second penalty
• A main sponsor of the Goodwood Revival for the third year, JD Classics was racing or displaying eight cars over the weekend

– JD Classics took two wins at the legendary Goodwood Revival, including a win in the iconic RAC TT Celebration race
