PR_DW_MW02Bentham’s David Wright was denied a win on round 2 of the BTRDA rally championship, the Malcolm Wilson rally, last weekend after mechanical issues on the final stage of the event lost him time.

Despite suffering from a lack of brakes for part of the opening Comb stage Wright and co-driver Steve Pugh were third fastest in their Grove Hill Garage and Kumho Tyres-supported Ford Focus WRC. Read More »

dw15_mw04Bentham’s David Wright made it to the finish of last weekend’s Malcolm Wilson rally in Cumbria after a tough two days with his Ford Focus WRC.

Wright tested the Kumho Tyres and Grove Hill Garage-supported Focus on the Thursday before the rally and had no problems as he gained valuable mileage in the new car. However, when he drove the car to scrutineering at M-Sport’s premises on Friday the engine cut out. Wright was able to make it to scrutineering after resetting all the cars systems  but it was looking doubtful that he’d be able to start the event. Read More »

dw15_mw02After a break of a year Bentham-based rally driver David Wright will make his return to rallying on next weekend’s Malcolm Wilson rally in Cumbria, a round of the BTRDA championship.

Wright will drive a GPM-prepared Ford Focus WRC which was originally driven by Carlos Sainz in the World Rally Championship. The car will be supported by Kumho Tyres and Grove Hill Garage. Read More »

Having sold the Mitsubishi Evo 9 he had used for the last three years Wright was hoping to debut his new Ford Focus WRC on the Cumbrian event but the car is awaiting engine parts so a back-up plan has been put into action. Read More »

dw13_dukeres01Bentham’s David Wright was robbed of the chance to push for a victory on last weekend’s Dukeries rally when a driveshaft snapped dropping him down the leaderboard.

Wright got off to a great start in his Kumho Tyres, Proflex, Drenth, York Brewery, Millers Oils, Owen Developments and Grove Hill Garage-supported Mitsubishi Evo 9  and, after setting the fastest time in stage 5 he was up to second overall, just 11 seconds off the leader. Read More »

After an excellent result on the Plains rally last month when he finished first in class and fourth overall Wright is hoping for another good performance in his Kumho Tyres, Proflex, Drenth, York Brewery, Millers Oils, Owen Developments and Grove Hill Garage-supported Mitsubishi Evo 9. The car ran faultlessly on the Plains so there have been no changes made ahead of the Dukeries. Read More »
