Gwyndaf 2009 Bulldog IIA host of local and national businesses have stepped forward to support the new-look Rally North Wales which will be held in Dolgellau on 28th March 2015. The North Wales Rally Services – Weir Laundry Equipment RNW Stages, fondly known as Rally North Wales will form part of the MSA Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship and will use the same forestry complex as the final round of the FIA World Rally Championship, Wales Rally GB.  Thanks to the support and assistance offered by a wrath of businesses across the country, the Wolverhampton and South Staffs Car Club (WSSCC) organised event will be a compact and cost effective event that offers the opportunity to compete on some of the best stages in the country for minimal outlay. Thirty years of motorsport development came under the spotlight when two Ford rally cars – separated by three decades of racing technology – were put to the test by British champions Gwyndaf and Elfyn Evans.

1996 British Rally Champion Gwyndaf and 2010 Junior British Rally Champion Elfyn came together as part of the Ford Centenary Tour.  They may be father and son but they were fierce rivals when they went head-to-head on a remote one-mile long rally stage in The Snowdonia National Park. Read More »

MINI WRC Team driver Dani Sordo has joined the line-up for The Rally Show at Cornbury Park this weekend. Just one week after its debut at Rally Italy, the Spaniard will demonstrate the brand new MINI John Cooper Works WRC, which was designed and built by Prodrive in Banbury. The eyes of the motorsport world will be on Cornbury Park’s 1.1-mile special Sstage as the MINI WRC makes its first appearance in the UK.

The Rally Show – a firm fixture on the motorsport calendar – is being held for the first time in Oxfordshire. Visitors will see an array of classic and modern rally cars on show, including the new M-Sport Ford Fiesta WRC, currently flying high in the World Rally Championship. It will be driven by World Rally star Henning Solberg (on Saturday 14 May) and newcomer Ott Tanak (on Sunday 15 May). S2000 driver Tanak impressed at Rally Italy last week, finishing seventh in a field of 18 World Rally Cars. Read More »

JRM’s achievement of winning the MSA British Rally Championship Teams’ title last year was acknowledged on Friday evening, when Team Manager John Barnes was presented with the MSA trophy at the association’s annual ‘Night of the Champions’ at the Royal Automobile Club in London’s Pall Mall. The best ever entry, in terms of both quality and quantity, will line up for the 2010 Roger Albert Clark Rally when the classic event starts in Pickering on Friday 26 November.

A fabulous total of 78 cars will contest the historic and open elements of the rally and two former British Rally champions will head the main field as they each bid to become the first driver to win the event twice. Read More »
