The special award winners from the final round of the 2017 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship, the Trackrod Historic Cup (Friday/Saturday 29/30 September) have been announced.

Stuart and Linda Cariss (1600cc Ford Escort Mk1), who finished 20th in the historic section of the rally, collected the award for the ‘Best Improvement on Seeding’, which is a set of axle brake pads from Mintex. Read More »

BHRC16 SVS CThe special award winners from the fourth round of the 2016 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship, the Severn Valley Stages (Saturday 4 June) have been announced following the rally that also featured the fourth round of the Holton Homes Clubmans Challenge.

The Holton Homes Clubmans Challenge is for crews using a maximum of six tyres per rally. The top overall finishers from the Clubmans Challenge field were Ben Friend and Cliffy Simmons, who finished seventh overall in their Pinto-powered Ford Escort Mk2. It was another tremendous performance from one of the youngest drivers in the championship. WWRS15 SVSJames Potter and Bob Duck were the top finishers in the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship during round four, the Severn Valley Stages (Saturday 30 May).

Potter and Duck moved ahead in the overall R.A.C. standings in their Ford Escort Mk2 when Open Category runners Phil Burton and Mal Capstick smashed a wheel on their Escort MK2 and handed victory in the Open section to the Toyota Corolla of Graham Waite and Mike Reynolds. Read More »

SVS15 CeenBob Ceen and Andy Bull took a dominant victory at this weekend’s Severn Valley Stages, winning all but two stages of the Midland Manor Motor Club organised event.  The Subaru Impreza WRC crew took a two second lead on the opening Cefn test and reached the Royal Welsh Showground finish podium in the same spot despite a last minute gear change issue on the road section back to the Builth Wells finish.  The duo would also take maximum points in the Pirelli MSA Welsh Rally Championship which was essential to their title hopes thanks to a non-score on the Plains Rally earlier in the month. Kent-based Ford Escort Mk2 drivers Dick Slaughter and James Potter have confirmed plans to contest the Waterend Gravel Cup next season, which runs over the five gravel rallies held within the Dunlop/Wonago.com MSA British Historic Rally Championship. Read More »
