Johan Kristoffersson and KYB Team JC crowned 2020 FIA World Rallycross Champions

In light of continued health concerns regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the organiser of the World Rallycross of Germany, scheduled to take place 12-13 December, has decided to cancel the final event of the 2020 FIA World Rallycross season. As the World RX of Germany event was the last scheduled event of the season, championship points leader Johan Kristoffersson has been named the 2020 FIA World Rallycross Champion, and KYB Team JC win the 2020 FIA World Rallycross Championship for Teams.

Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson claimed a dramatic victory at the Logitech G FIA World RX of Catalunya, round eight of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy (18 October).

Sweden’s Timmy Hansen raced to victory at the Logitech G FIA World RX of Pirineus-Barcelona 2030, round seven of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy (17 October), his first victory since winning the 2019 Drivers’ title.

Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson claimed his 23rd career victory at the Neste World RX of Riga-Latvia, round five of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy (September 19), to extend his Drivers’ Championship lead.

Sweden’s Johan Kristoffersson claimed a coveted clean sweep in round three of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy, at the CapitalBox World RX of Finland, winning every session to extend his Drivers’ Championship lead today (29 August).

Kristoffersson Motorsport’s Johan Kristoffersson was the comeback king in the first round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy, the Swecon World RX of Sweden.

World RX of Great Britain

The World RX of Great Britain moved to Silverstone for 2018 the relatively short and technical circuit provided a very different challenge to Lydden Hill. As he often does Johan Kristoffersson (Polo R) started slow but a great Sunday saw him qualify fastest for the semi finals. A 1st corner clash with his team mate Petter Solberg lead to a red flag which was fortunate for him. He went through to the final and took the overall victory with Andreas Bakkerud (Audi S1) 2nd and Sébastien Loeb (208 WRX) completing the podium. In the RX2 category Oliver Eriksson took victory and in the Americas Rallycross Tanner Foust (Beetle R) dominated to take victory.

Johan Kristoffersson extended his lead in the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy after taking his second straight win of the season in the Bompiso World RX of Portugal. Sebastien Loeb finished second for Team Peugeot Total with Petter Solberg placing third for PSRX Volkswagen Sweden in the final, which was run in a blizzard at the end of a weekend of mixed weather.

Johan Kristoffersson has been named the winner of the World RX of Catalunya-Barcelona, round one of the 2018 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy, after first-on-the-road Mattias Ekstrom was disqualified from the final following an incident with Petter Solberg. Sebastien Loeb secured second place finish after an eventful weekend for Team Peugeot Total, while EKS Audi Sport’s Andreas Bakkerud ensured three manufacturers are represented in the top three.
