davidwright_fos15Rally driver David Wright enjoyed a hugely successful Goodwood Festival of Speed when he beat some of the fastest drivers in British rallying to win the shootout event, which was held over the three days of the festival at Goodwood House in Sussex.

Bentham-based Wright was invited to appear at the prestigious event in his Kumho Tyres and Grove Hill Garage-supported Ford Focus WRC, a car which has been used at world championship level by Spanish champion Carlos Sainz. Read More »

Kumho Donegal15aGarry Jennings achieved a sensational overall victory on last weekend’s Joule Donegal International Rally (June 19-21), using his Kumho-shod Subaru S12B to beat Declan Boyle’s Ford Fiesta WRC into second place by no less than 1 minute 7.1 seconds. This is the second time 2013 Irish Rally Champion Jennings has won the island’s premier event in the last four years. It was also a highly notable result for his Letterkenny-based co-driver Rory Kennedy, who last triumphed in his home rally exactly 20 years ago, and has since become the most successful co-driver in the history of the Irish Tarmac championship. Kumho day at the racesFor the last four years Kumho has been the sole tyre supplier to the F1 feeder series Auto GP, so what better way to entertain its retailers than inviting them to Silverstone to witness the UK round of this international championship, plus a host of other exciting races? Kumho Viper BThe beast is back! Twin Busch Kumho pre-ring15Twin Busch has been the front running privateer team in Germany’s Nürburgring-based VLN Championship for some years now, even winning one round outright in 2013. The squad’s history in the ‘Green Hell’s’ gruelling 24 Hour race is also mighty impressive and they last year finished 10th overall behind nine works outfits. They plan to eclipse that result in this weekend’s event (May 16/17) and have been working hard with their long-standing tyre supplier Kumho to achieve that aim. Read More »

Gamble made a fantastic British Rallycross debut at the weekend, where he finished a very credible 2nd place in the Super 1600 category, a result he is over the moon with after gong into the event completely blind.

The Kumho Tyres backed driver lead the S1600 final from the start, beating front runner and main rival; Craig Lomax, until the car developed an engine fault caused by overheating, but he still managed to clinch a brilliant 2nd place in the event in the Jam Motorsport ran Suzuki Swift. Read More »

Kumho Jennings15The 2013 Irish Rally Champion, Garry Jennings, heads the points after round one of the 2015 national series, despite not winning the event outright. The fact is, though he brought his Kumho-shod Subaru Impreza WRC S12B home 38.7 seconds behind the Ford Focus WRC of his old adversary Donagh Kelly on last weekend’s (February 22) Birr Stages Rally, he ultimately accumulated more points by being the fastest of all through the so-called ‘power stage’. ‘Billy Coleman Young Driver Of The Year 2014’ Dean Raftery had never driven a WRC car before achieving a memorable 6th place overall on last weekend’s (February 6-8) Colm Quinn BMW Galway Rally at the wheel of a Kumho-shod BMW Mini. The result was all the more remarkable for the fact that he and co-driver Mark Kane had dropped as low as 18th on the opening day, following time lost to a loose water pipe. Undeterred, the 23-year-old put in a remarkably mature drive, setting a string of top five stage times to finish just four places behind the sister Mini of his illustrious team-mate, five-times Irish rally champion Eugene Donnelly. Raftery’s Colm Quinn-sponsored car was prepared by McGeehan Motorsport and ran on Kumho CO3 and TW02 rally tyres supplied by local motorsport dealer, Ears Motorsport Ireland.
