McLaren Factory Driver Alvaro Parente continued his strong start to the 2017 Pirelli World Challenge season on the streets of Long Beach California, breaking the lap record to score pole position, before claiming a lights-to-flag victory. Close behind the reigning champion, K-PAX Racing’s Bryan Sellers teammate secured the final podium position in the #6 650S GT3.

Lucas di Grassi wins the Formula E race in Long Beach (USA). The Brazilian secured a convincing victory in the sixth event of the electric racing series in California, while at the same time taking the lead in the championship table. His team-mate Daniel Abt also achieved a podium finish in third position. Sam Bird clinched pole position but finished sixth for DS Virgin Racing in the Long Beach ePrix after contact with a tyre wall ruined his chance of victory.

Starting from pole position, Sam Bird maintained his lead over second placed Lucas Di Grassi for the first part of the race, before Di Grassi finally managed to pass him on lap 12. Bird was hot on his tail for the remainder of the first stint and, after a clean car changeover, Bird emerged just behind Di Grassi again as the battle for the lead continued. Read More »

DS Virgin Racing enters the second half of the Formula E season, with Team Principal Alex Tai keen to maintain focus at the Long Beach ePrix looking for strong performances from both drivers Sam Bird and Jean-Eric Vergne.

As Formula E prepares to take centre stage in Los Angeles, California, DS Virgin Racing is coming to the home of its sister companies Virgin Galactic and Virgin America.

The team has several podiums and a win to its name but is now focusing on challenging the top three teams, aiming to close the gap in the championship standings this weekend. At 1.32 miles and featuring seven turns, the Formula E cars will race a modified configuration of the iconic Long Beach street circuit, previously used for Formula 1, CART, Champ Car and IndyCar races.
