For our first time we caught our local event, the MG Car Club Autumn Trial. Based in Burton Dassett Country Park, as it has been for over 40 years, this event is just 15 minutes away for us but clashes, over the years, have prevented us from attending. Sadly it looks like this will be the last running of the event due to changes at Warwickshire County Council with regards to motorsport events running in the park. This seems like utter madness as the entertainment provided to the unsuspecting public was fantastic to watch. With a mixture of production cars it was the Hillman Imps which proved to be the class of the field. Read More »


A 50-minute Pit Stop Race for 1 or 2 drivers.

The MG Car Club is holding their Annual Meeting this year at Silverstone on the Historic Grand Prix circuit. This coincides with the biggest gathering of MGs, with infield displays and attractions. Including a ’60 years of BMC Competitions Cars’ display.

On Sunday 21 June, the club is putting on a 50-minute Pit Stop Race, open to all comers in closed-wheel cars, by invitation, with a 25-minute practice on Sunday morning.

The MG Car Club is turning back the clock to the glory days of racing from the 1950s and 1960s, with an invitation race for sports cars and sports racing cars of the 1950s and 1960s.

The race will form part of the Club’s busy schedule at its upcoming Brands Hatch race meeting on Saturday 2 May and is for cars up to 1500cc.

The Club’s Brands Hatch meeting is traditionally one its most popular, with good numbers of spectators and competitors enjoying plenty of motorsport action over the long weekend. Read More »

MGLive! roars into Silverstone this weekend (23/24 June). with over 15,000 enthusiasts expected to descend on the MG Car Club’s annual celebration.

The 62nd successive staging of the MGCC’s Silverstone meeting is shaping up to be one of the most memorable yet with mouth-watering action both on and off track. Six hundred competitors will compete on Silverstone’s full Grand Prix circuit throughout the MGLive! weekend whilst a plethora of in-field entertainment means there is something for all motoring enthusiasts to enjoy.

The hotly anticipated official MGB50 celebration race will assume centre stage on Saturday 23 June at 3.15pm. The 50-minute encounter, supported by British Motor Heritage, has attracted a full grid of 58 FIA MGBs which represents the largest ever on-track line-up of these iconic cars. Read More »

31 Historic MGs qualified at Mallory Park for the HRDC Queen’s Diamond Jubilee MG Celebration race on 4 June. With the Jubilee weekend’s weather having been one of torrential rain, the skies brightened for the Bank Holiday Monday Motors TV meeting, where this HRDC 30-minute race was the feature race.

Historic ace Andy Newall qualified Sir Anthony Bamford’s JCB works MGB roadster 8DBL on pole, half a second in front of a determined Andrew Bentley in his FIA MGB roadster. Mark Ashworth and Marc Campfield (the latter in his father’s newly-restored works MGB rally car BRX854B) took the second row. Read More »

The MG Car Club’s 62nd successive Silverstone meeting has attracted a mouth-watering grid of the world’s best MGBs; competitors will contest for honours on the full GP circuit.

Supported by British Motor Heritage, the prestigious 50-minute race is for FIA-spec MGBs running on Dunlop Historic Tyres and includes a mandatory pit stop.

MGLive! is the world’s largest MG event and attracts 20,000 enthusiasts from every corner of the globe.
