MG KX Momentum British Touring Car Championship stars Jason Plato and Sam Tordoff say that they have only one thing on their minds at Brands Hatch this weekend, and that is to sign off the 2013 season with a flourish.

The pair have shared out seven wins between them over the course of the 27 rounds held so far, and go into the showdown confident of more success. Plato has an outside shot at the title, while Tordoff wants to cement his place as the top rookie of the season.

Plato, who has won a record-breaking 80 times in his BTCC career, said that he wasn’t thinking about title success just purely aiming for a glorious weekend. Read More »

MG KX Silverstone13Jason Plato continued his record-breaking run of success in the British Touring Car Championship by pushing his career victory tally to 80 with brace of triumphs at Silverstone on Sunday.

Plato led home team-mate Sam Tordoff in the opening race and then repeated the success in the second event in Northamptonshire, while Tordoff came home in fourth in race two. Read More »

The MG KX Momentum British Touring Car Championship squad of Jason Plato and Sam Tordoff are both aiming to bounce back to the top of the rostrum as the series reconvenes at Silverstone this weekend.

Plato, who has been on the podium eight times so far this season and has landed four wins, says he wants to boost his career tally of victories. If he won two of the weekend’s three races, Plato could net his 80th career triumph on Sunday – which is way more than any other driver in the history of the championship.

“That’s what things are all about for me,” said Plato. “The championship is a long shot for us, so my target has to be to push my victory total towards the 100 mark. I love big shiny trophies and big bottles of champagne – that makes me very happy. Read More »

MG KX Rockingham13Changeable weather and tricky track surfaces frustrated the MG KX Momentum team of Jason Plato and Sam Tordoff at the latest rounds of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Rockingham in Northamptonshire last weekend.

The pair had shown superb pace in the qualifying session to lock out the front row of the grid after the timed session but rain shortly before the first of the weekend’s three races scuppered the team’s plans. Read More »

The MG KX Momentum drivers Jason Plato and Sam Tordoff are going to go all-out for race wins at the eighth meeting of the 2013 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Rockingham this weekend.

Plato thinks that the 1.94-mile partially banked circuit will play to the strengths of his two-litre turbocharged MG6 as he aims to add to his tally of four victories already this season.

“We were very fast at Rockingham last year and that should carry over to 2013 as well,” he says. “It is an interesting track with lots of technical bits, but everybody loves the banked Turn One, which is taken flat out. It is a ballsy corner and one which requires total commitment – it’s right up my alley.” Read More »

MG KX Momentum drivers Jason Plato and Sam Tordoff have both pledged to get their winning campaigns back on track at Rockingham in three weeks after a tough time in the latest rounds of the British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill in Scotland last weekend.

Both drivers struggled to get to grips with the handling of the two-litre turbocharged MG6 over the demands of the tight 1.2-mile circuit in Fife and were unable to challenge for wins over the course of the three races.

Plato’s best result was a fourth position in the first of the three races, while Tordoff brought his car home in the top ten twice before an alternator failure ruled him out of the third encounter. Read More »
