Blair Brown MW16Perthshire based rally team, BBR Rallying kicked off their 2016 campaign with driver Blair Brown (20) and co-driver Richard Simmonds (45) achieving a steady drive under tricky artic weather conditions in Newtown, Wales last weekend (5th & 6th March). The duo successfully finished the first round of the DMACK British Junior Rally Championship in their Ford Fiesta R2T in a respectable 6th position following a 68-mile battle through the snowy Welsh mountains. World Rally Championship ace Elfyn Evans overcame “arctic like” conditions on last weekends (5/6 March) Mid Wales Stages to take victory on home soil and first blood in the opening round of the MSA British Rally Championship. Along with co-driver Craig Parry, the Welshman battled with Swede Fredrik Ahlin in his similar machine during the tough Newtown based event, but came out victorious after battling through six snow and ice covered stages to take the win in his Ford Fiesta R5. Local hero Tom Cave took third in a similar Fiesta R5.

Blair Brown pre-BRC16A young rally driver from Kinross, Perthshire is all set to compete in the opening round of the MSA British Junior Rally Championship (BRC) this weekend at the Mid Wales Stages.

Blair Brown (20) and his co-driver Richard Simmonds from Duns are the only Scottish competitors in the DMACK Junior BRC that promises to showcase the talents of the best young drivers in 2-wheel drive R2 specification cars.
