The MINI brand has achieved further success at the Dakar Rally. After covering more than 9,000 kilometres spanning Argentina, Chile and Bolivia, MINI won the world’s toughest rally for the fourth time in a row. Nasser Al-Attiyah/Mathieu Baumel (QT/FR) crossed the finishing line in the Argentinian capital Buenos Aires (AR) as the overall winners, having won five of the 13 legs in their MINI ALL4 Racing.

“I promised last year when I was on the podium that I’d be back to win, and now I’m here,” said Al-Attiyah. “It was very hard to lead the race from the very beginning and to continue keeping this position on the long distance. Also because the race was really hard. I’m very happy about this great result and I want to thank and congratulate all mechanics and the team for the great job they have done during the two weeks. Less than two months ahead of the start of the 2015 Dakar Rally (3-17 January) X-raid, supported by MINI, has revealed its line-up for the 37th edition of the world’s most famous long-distance rally. A total of eight MINI ALL4 Racing with driver crews from ten countries will take on the ultimate motorsport adventure of the Dakar Rally. Defending Dakar champions Joan “Nani” Roma (ES) and co-driver Michel Périn (FR) will lead the Monster Energy Rally Raid Team while the experienced driver pairings Orlando Terranova/Bernardo “Ronnie” Graue (AR/AR) and Krzysztof Holowczyc/Xavier Panseri (PL/FR) complete the line-up. There will also be five customer driver pairings in MINI ALL4 Racing cars built by the German-based X-raid GmbH.

The successful rally team will compete with three MINI ALL4 Racing, including the one of Vladimir Vasilyev/Konstantin Zhiltsov (RU/RU). It will be the final big desert adventure before the biggest and toughest challenge in rallying: the 2015 Dakar Rally, held in South America.

2014 Dakar winner Joan “Nani” Roma (ES) will be behind the wheel of a MINI ALL4 Racing car in Morocco with co-driver Michel Perin (FR) by his side again. Roma already won two events this year. His home event, the Baja Aragón as well as the Desafío Inca in Peru, which was, however, not part of the World Cup. X-raid will compete with six more MINI ALL4 Racing cars in North Africa, including the car of Orlando Terranova (AR) and co-driver Rolando Graue (FR). Read More »

Held around the city of Pisco in Peru, the event is a tough challenge and a good preparation for the biggest challenge in offroad rallying: The Dakar Rally, which will be held at the beginning of January 2015.

In his striking yellow MINI ALL4 Racing, Joan “Nani” Roma (ES) has won the sixth round of the 2014 FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies. After four demanding special stages and 666.13 competitive kilometres during the 2014 Baja Aragón the Spaniard and his co-driver Michel Périn (FR) claimed the victory for the Monster Energy X-raid Team ahead of team-mates Orlando Terranova/Moi Torrallardona (AR/ES), Martin Kaczmarski/Tappio Suominen (PL/FI) and the current World Cup leader Vladimir Vasilyev/Konstantin Zhiltsov (RU/RU) who were also competing in MINI ALL4 Racing cars.
