Visitors to this year’s Race Retro, powered by Motor Sport, were treated to motorsport stars, rally legends and glorious sunshine at Stoneleigh Park over the weekend, bringing a record crowd to the show.

Some 24,212 enthusiasts attended over the three show days, an increase on 2018’s 23,100 attendees, to see the mix of rally and racing cars as well as special guests including British racing drivers John Watson and John Fitzpatrick along with ‘Rally Professor’ Rauno Aaltonen. Read More »

Back again for Race Retro for yet another year and it was blessed by superb weather which ensured the crowds came flocking to Stoneleigh. The association with Motor Sport continues and the collection in hall 3 showed some amazing machinery. There were the usual displays with interesting cars and features with the 35 anniversary of the Metro 6R4 being just one of the celebrated cars. Silverstone Auctions had a wonderful array of cars for sale too, with a couple of Porsche 365’s and a trio of Vauxhall Lotus Carlton’s to mention but a few. Read More »

Prepare for double the action at this year’s Race Retro, powered by *Motor Sport*, as the show organisers have announced that the outdoor motorsport will expand to two Live Rally Stages.

With a record number of entries, Rallying with Group B (RWGB) will see some 120 cars including ex-works cars with motorsport champions at the wheel take on the new stages on the Saturday and Sunday at Stoneleigh Park.

Racing and Rally legends will once again gather at Race Retro, powered by *MotorSport*, as racing drivers John Watson and John Fitzpatrick make their show debut alongside returning rally legend Rauno Aaltonen.

Held at Stoneleigh Park from 22-24 February, Race Retro welcomes Formula One driver turned pundit John Watson, who won five Grands Prix and was third in the 1982 championship.

Born in Belfast, John’s F1 career started in 1972 at Goldie Hexagon Racing but his first World Champion event wasn’t until the following year when he drove a Brabham-Ford BT37. Moving on to the BT42, John scored his first championship point in the 1974 Monaco Grand Prix. Drives with Team Surtees, Lotus and Penske followed. Read More »

Legendary racing drivers, World Rally Champions and record crowds gathered at this year’s Race Retro, powered by *Motor Sport*, with 23,100 attendees over the three-days, a ten-per-cent increase on 2017.

Hall of Fame inductee Brian Redman was amongst the many guests at Stoneleigh Park, along with rally driver Miki Biasion, who was celebrating 30 years since his first WRC win. Both shared stories from their careers and signed hundreds of autographs for adoring fans. Read More »

It would not be February for us without the visit to Race Retro. It remains a firm favourite and the best motorsport show we attend. The presence of Motor Sport enhances the show with some wonderful cars on display in hall 3. The mixture of F1, endurance racing and rally cars is perfect and the various displays dotted around the 4 halls are all very good. Throw in the Silverstone Auctions element to the show and you have a superb show for any motorsport enthusiast. Read More »

Race Retro, powered by Motor Sport, will pay tribute to the late great Dan Gurney at this year’s show, held at Warwickshire’s Stoneleigh Park from Friday 23 to Sunday 25 February, with the last Formula One car Gurney raced on display – the McLaren M14A. Read More »

Few racing cars are restored forty years later by the very people that built it in the first place, but that’s exactly what’s happened to the little-known Connew F1 car, which will be on display at Race Retro, powered by Motor Sport, held 23-25 February at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.

The car, featuring in the Motor Sport Hall of Fame Live, was built in a time when F1 was possible for those with big ambitions and small budgets, and not just a pipe dream. Read More »

2016 guest Damon Hill on Motor Sport stand at Race RetroRace Retro will be ‘powered by’ Motor Sport Magazine when the historic motorsport show returns to Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, in 2017. Held from Friday 24th to Sunday 26th February, the new three-year partnership will see Motor Sport’s Hall of Fame develop into a live spectacle within a dedicated Motor Sport Magazine Hall at Race Retro.

Hall of Fame Live will give visitors the chance to meet Hall of Fame inductees from racing and rallying as well as enjoying live interviews with the stars. There will also be stunning displays of the cars and bikes that lead them to victory. Read More »

The ex-Ronald ‘Steady’ Barker 1934 Lancia Astura is unveiled by British designer Tony Southgate on Motor Sport magazine stand at Race Retro.

Finally completed after extensive restoration, and as unique as it was intended to be, the Lancia Astura Steady Special was unveiled on the Motor Sport magazine stand at Race Retro 2015. Read More »
