Championship organisers are delighted to confirm that Paddy Hopkirk MBE will be the guest of honour at the upcoming 2017 ARR Craib MSA Scottish Rally Championship (SRC) Awards Dinner in Aviemore on Saturday 18th November.

The new President of the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) first came to prominence after winning the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally in a Mini Cooper, and alongside Henry Liddon, is still the last all British crew to win the classic event. First things first was the motto for Joan “Nani” Roma (ES) when the 2014 Dakar Rally winner visited the iconic Goodwood Festival of Speed in England before he will be heading for the 2014 Baja Arágon in Spain later this month. During the world famous motorsport event Roma competed in the spectacular 2.86 kilometre hill-climb race in front of thousands of motorsport enthusiasts from around the globe. Alongside Roma: his powerful yellow MINI ALL4 Racing in which he claimed the Dakar victory for the MINI brand and the Monster Energy X-raid Team just over five months ago in the world’s most demanding long-distance rally.

WWRS14 HopkirkRallying legend Paddy Hopkirk will be celebrated in the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship with the award of a major new trophy for the winner of Category 1 at the end of each season.

It was 50 years ago today (17 January) that Hopkirk started the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally in his works Mini Cooper registered ’33 EJB’. He went on to score a landmark victory on the event with a drive that captured the nation’s imagination and instantly make himself a household name. Rally legend Paddy Hopkirk at the wheel of one of the latest versions of the Mini will lead the field away on Mini Britannia (Saturday 13 October) as the rallying heritage of the model comes together with the current World Rally Championship programme.

Hopkirk, winner of the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally in a Mini Cooper S, will run as course opening car on the classic race and rally tour, which starts from a base at Silverstone. Hopkirk, a life member of the BRDC, will be at the wheel of a current Mini Countryman Cooper S recce car as used on this year’s World Rally Championship. Read More »

MG enthusiasts flocked to Silverstone Circuit to celebrate all things MG, as the MG Car Club’s showpiece MGLive! event (23 & 24 June) assumed centre stage for a 62nd successive year.

Despite some challenging conditions, MGLive! attracted thousands of devotees from 24 different nations and provided something for all ages to enjoy.

MINI WRC Team driver Dani Sordo has joined the line-up for The Rally Show at Cornbury Park this weekend. Just one week after its debut at Rally Italy, the Spaniard will demonstrate the brand new MINI John Cooper Works WRC, which was designed and built by Prodrive in Banbury. The eyes of the motorsport world will be on Cornbury Park’s 1.1-mile special Sstage as the MINI WRC makes its first appearance in the UK.

The Rally Show – a firm fixture on the motorsport calendar – is being held for the first time in Oxfordshire. Visitors will see an array of classic and modern rally cars on show, including the new M-Sport Ford Fiesta WRC, currently flying high in the World Rally Championship. It will be driven by World Rally star Henning Solberg (on Saturday 14 May) and newcomer Ott Tanak (on Sunday 15 May). S2000 driver Tanak impressed at Rally Italy last week, finishing seventh in a field of 18 World Rally Cars. Read More »
