Toyo Tyres British Rallycross BMW MINI contender Steve Brown enjoyed a buoyant weekend at rounds six and seven of the series in South Wales, taking a double podium at the Pembrey Racing Circuit qualifier (21/22 September).

Brown guided his Lohen, Swift GO, Fuchs Lubricants and 710 Oils backed MINI to third place on the rostrum in the hotly contested series during Saturday and Sunday, to cement his third spot in the championship standings with just two rounds remaining. Read More »

Toyo Tyres British Rallycross rookie Steve Brown secured his maiden BMW MINI Championship podium on Sunday, taking third place at Pembrey Race Circuit at the fourth round of the series in South Wales (22-23 June).

With the weekend double-header counting for rounds three and four of the series, Brown overcame a difficult Saturday to bounce back to a third place in the final the very next day, meaning he heads to the next round back at Lydden Hill in fifth place in the series and just two points behind fourth spot. Rally turned Rallycross driver Steve Brown will aim to score the best result of his short circuit racing career this weekend as he heads to Pembrey for the third and fourth rounds of the Toyo Tyres British Rallycross Championship (22-23 June).

Reigning MSA Junior Rallycross champion Tom Llewellin endured a challenging weekend at the double header rounds of the Toyo Tires MSA British Rallycross Championship at Pembrey but still came away with a podium finish.

The 17 year old from nearby Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire was again contesting the Swift Sport Championship for Peter Gwynne Motorsport (PGM) in the Suzuki Swift and after the difficult qualifying session for round four, battled through to take fourth place in the final. Read More »

F1000_PR3_15_PLSCharlie Barlow masters the Peter Lloyd Stages at Pembrey in South Wales to take provisional championship victory.

Win number six for Charlie Barlow at last weekend’s Peter Lloyd Stages was enough for the Nissan Micra pilot to take the provisional* 2015 Kick Energy Junior 1000 Rally Championship with two rounds to go. After electing to miss the previous round in Scotland, Barlow took a convincing victory at the South Wales Pembrey race circuit to make it six victories from six starts, wrapping up the title in the process. Gamble made a fantastic British Rallycross debut at the weekend, where he finished a very credible 2nd place in the Super 1600 category, a result he is over the moon with after gong into the event completely blind.

The Kumho Tyres backed driver lead the S1600 final from the start, beating front runner and main rival; Craig Lomax, until the car developed an engine fault caused by overheating, but he still managed to clinch a brilliant 2nd place in the event in the Jam Motorsport ran Suzuki Swift. Read More »

Gamble Rallycross PembreyWolverhampton based rally driver Mark Gamble will embark upon his first event of the 2015 season on Sunday 10th of May, and it’s a brand new venture for him. He will be tackling the 3rd round of the British Rallycross Championship at Pembrey next weekend.

jaffa14 (8)Beautiful crisp conditions greeted the crews at Pembrey which meant only one thing, ice! Once this had thawed the usual grip issues with cow dung and low quality surfaces on the service roads, it proved to be entertaining on the stages. Kevin Tappin & Jonathan Hawkins (Escort Cosworth) were fastest on stage 1 by a single second from Paul & Nia Fowden (Impreza) on stage 1 and when Fowden punctured on stage 2 his challenge disappeared, (even with fastest stage times on stages 3 & 4). Sam Bilham (GBR) Next Big Step Nissan MicraHot on the heels of his BTRDA National Gravel series title, 18 year old rally ace Sam Bilham headed to the far reaching corner of the South Wales coats to tackle the Peter Lloyd Stages at Pembrey race circuit last weekend in a bid to increase his lead in the second of his title chasing efforts this season, the Formula1000 Tarmac Championship. With only two contenders making the trip to the rain soaked venue, a win and the required maximum championship points was a likely outcome for the Bingley youngster, but an opening stage trip into a tyre wall would end any hopes of a victory in Wales.
