For years now, both amateur and professional drivers have been winning national rally championships on Kumho tyres. The latest to achieve such success are Bob Fowden and Paul Wakely in their Subaru Impreza WRC who, by annexing last week’s (October 23) Peter Lloyd Stages event at the Pembrey Motorsports Centre, have clinched the 2016 JD Tyres Welsh National Tarmacadam Rally Championship with one round to spare. F1000_PR3_15_PLSCharlie Barlow masters the Peter Lloyd Stages at Pembrey in South Wales to take provisional championship victory.

Win number six for Charlie Barlow at last weekend’s Peter Lloyd Stages was enough for the Nissan Micra pilot to take the provisional* 2015 Kick Energy Junior 1000 Rally Championship with two rounds to go. After electing to miss the previous round in Scotland, Barlow took a convincing victory at the South Wales Pembrey race circuit to make it six victories from six starts, wrapping up the title in the process. Sam Bilham (GBR) Next Big Step Nissan MicraHot on the heels of his BTRDA National Gravel series title, 18 year old rally ace Sam Bilham headed to the far reaching corner of the South Wales coats to tackle the Peter Lloyd Stages at Pembrey race circuit last weekend in a bid to increase his lead in the second of his title chasing efforts this season, the Formula1000 Tarmac Championship. With only two contenders making the trip to the rain soaked venue, a win and the required maximum championship points was a likely outcome for the Bingley youngster, but an opening stage trip into a tyre wall would end any hopes of a victory in Wales. 19 year old James Watkins scored a dominant class win on last weekends Peter Lloyd Stages at Pembrey Race Track in South Wales, finishing the five stage event almost two minutes clear of his nearest class rival and 37th overall.

Makefast of Newtown and Rally Marketing backed James, driving a Geoff Jones Motorsport run Nissan Micra F1000 had to adapt to a new co-driver at the last minute, with Sherryn Roberts stepping into the hot seat on Sunday morning. Read More »
