Eighteen-year-old Blairgowrie rally driver Finlay Retson secured the best result of his short career last weekend, by taking third place in the Junior British Rally Championship at a gruelling Pirelli International Rally (27th April).

Chesterfield rally driver Rhys Yates made sure his return to the British Rally championship was worthwhile, by equalling his career best result in Carlisle to take second place at the Pirelli International Rally on Saturday (27th April).

Junior British Rally Championship front-runner Jordan Hone will drive an EDSL Sport M-Sport Fiesta R2 at this weekend’s Pirelli International Rally (27th April).

Hone, from Derry in Ireland, has shown impressive pace on both rounds of the series so far despite being behind the wheel of an ageing Open Adam R2. FIA World Rally Championship driver Rhys Yates will make a return to the British Rally Championship, contesting the third round of the series in Carlisle, the Pirelli International Rally (27th April).

The 26-year-old Skoda Fabia R5 pilot from Chesterfield hasn’t contested a round of the British series since October’s Wales Rally GB but will use a lull in the WRC2 calendar to contest the one-day gravel event in the RYR machine. Scottish rally driver Finlay Retson will head to the third round of the Junior British Rally Championship this weekend, with the firm aim of retaining his chances to scoop a prize fund worth €60,000 towards a 2020 campaign in the Junior World Rally Championship.

With two rounds of the series completed, 18-year-old Retson from Blairgowrie finds himself in sixth place in the Junior BRC standings but more importantly, equal first in the race to bag the huge prize on offer from M-Sport Poland and Pirelli. Read More »

As the fast-paced 2018 series gears up for an exciting climax, the Prestone MSA British Rally Championship (BRC) has today (12 September) confirmed its 2019 calendar.

In 2019, Britain’s top-tier rallying series will feature six rounds in six territories, with events across the UK in Wales, England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. The series, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, will once again visit Belgium for the classic Ypres Rally and new for 2019 will see the BRC visit the Republic of Ireland with the West Cork Rally playing host to a BRC round for the very first time. British rally co-driver Tom Woodburn got his Prestone MSA British Rally Championship campaign off to the best possible start last weekend, by taking the opening round Junior win alongside Norwegian ace Steve Rokland at the Pirelli International Rally (28th April).

Woodburn, 23 from Morecambe, guided Rokland to fastest stage time on seven of the eight special stages in the Kielder Forest, to win by an impressive 1 minute and 10 seconds over their nearest rival in their Peugeot 208 R2.
