One of the season’s flagship events, Rally Finland more than lived up to expectations, serving up a breath-taking spectacle in the land of a thousand lakes. Once again, all three of the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi WRT’s C3 WRCs made it to the finish. Nottingham rally co-driver Phil Hall will head to the FIA World Rally Championship for the second time this season, as he guides up-and-coming British Rally Championship talent Tom Williams around the infamous Neste Rally Finland (27 – 30 July).

After outings in Australia, New Zealand, Germany and Corsica so far this year, Hall will assist the Ford Fiesta R2 driver on only his second outing in a WRC event, utilising his previous experience of the country’s huge jumps and super-fast roads. Dubbed the “Rally of 1000 Lakes” the event is steeped in history and sits alongside the Monte Carlo Rally and RAC Rally as a legendary rally. Read More »

Cook Finland16aLouise Cook returned to World competition this weekend after enduring a 4 year absence from the sport. Louise, despite becoming the first female in the world to gain a FIA Rally Championship title in 2012, has struggled ever since to gain the funding needed to compete at world level. Then, at just the time when enough funding was found for two rounds in 2015, a screw was found to be compressing Louise’s subclavian artery from a collar bone plate, forcing her again away from competition and sadly suffering financial loss from committed costs in the process. It has been a tough run, finally managing to get the funds to get back to WRC last year following a 3 year fund raising struggle was an amazing feeling. Then to have a massive knock back, ending up in A&E rather than on a ferry to the rally and losing the committed funds in the process was pretty hard to take. It has made me stronger, these things always do :o) The good news now is that I am 100% fixed, no screws digging in my artery and my arm is stronger than it has ever been.

If at first you don’t succeed try, try, try, try, try, try again, and again, and again, and again, and again! I am trying again! I have entered into the world famous Rally Finland. It is a sensational event and the most exciting rally event in the whole World Rally Championship season. It’s amazingly challenging roads have the most dramatic jumps!
