Mansfield based co-driver Phil Hall guided New Zealand rally ace Rhys Gardner to a top twenty finish at last weekend’s International Rally of Whangarei (4th -6th May), after overcoming engine woes which blighted their performance in the Asia Pacific Rally Championship qualifier.

After running well inside the top ten for much of the opening day, a reoccurring power issue would force the Mazda 2 AP4+ down the leader board throughout the rally and Hall would not be able to beat his previous result of sixth overall alongside the Kiwi at the event last year. Read More »

After competing in Corsica and Paraguay in recent weeks, busy co-driver Phil Hall will make a return trip to New Zealand in the next few days, where he will compete alongside rapid national driver Rhys Gardner at the International Rally of Whangarei (4th – 6th May).

MSA Academy co-driver Phil Hall made the trip to New Zealand a worthwhile one when he guided New Zealand Rally Championship contender Rhys Gardner to sixth overall at the International Rally of Whangarei.

Hall was drafted in just weeks before the event and made the last minute trip to sit alongside Gardner as he bids to take the New Zealand domestic series honours in his potent Mazda 2 AP4.  After finishing third in the opening round of the series, Gardner had high hopes of another solid finish with Hall alongside. British rally co-driver Phil Hall will head to New Zealand today (Monday 24th April) to contest the International Rally of Whangarei alongside domestic rally ace Rhys Gardner.

The 28 year old from Mansfield near Nottingham had just secured a deal to contest a round of the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship in Australia with Rhys Pinter at the end of May, but the progressive co-driver was keen to work on plans for other outings in the southern hemisphere. Read More »
