Welcome to the Race and Rally – Rally2 Championship Update and points tables after round 3, The ATL Carlisle Stages.

In a rally of attrition, the ATL Carlisle Stages once again proved to be a tough event to master with Kielder Forest providing several stings for our crews across the board. Sadly championship leaders Phil Burton/Dylan Thomas ended their event on the opening stage and with several front runners failing to score in both class and overall terms, the leaderboard has seen a swap around as we head to the final two rounds of the season. Despite several crews not making the trip to the event, we were also able to welcome new resistrations to the championship, ensuring another class battle in the Kielder Forests. After a week of unseasonably dry and warm weather across the UK saw the Dyfi complex in perfect condition for the largely 2WD field. Dust could pose a problem though and with the 2WD reverse seeded then the top runners would not be immune. Osian Pryce & Dale Furniss (Escort MkII) set the stages alight going fastest through all 8 stages, albeit joint fastest time on the final stage. Their victory margin was 37s over Nick Elliott & Dave Price with Joe Price & Chris Brooks a further 34s back, completing an all Escort MkII podium. Stanley Orr & Grahame Henderson (Escort MkI) took category 2 in 4th overall whilst Ken Davies & Alan Jones (Amazon) were victorious in category 1. Read More »

Sam Bilham enjoyed a positive debut behind the wheel of a new Vauxhall ADAM Cup car last weekend at Rally North Wales (24th March), taking the impressive machine to second in class M3 and 11th modern crew home at the Dolgellau based event. Read More »

The 2018 Rally North Wales was the first event to run to the new Rally2 format and it proved a success. With the BHRC and 2WD running through the stages first it proved to be a battle between the Ford Escort MkII’s. On the first stage though Ieuan Rowlands & Emyr Hall were fastest in the Avenger but retirement on stage 2 saw the normal Escort MkII order restored with Nick Elliott taking over the lead, despite Ryan Barrett going fastest through stage 2. Elliott, co-driven by Dave Price, was then fastest on stage 3 to take a 13 second lead in to service.
