Dolgellau based event, Rally North Wales launches this week with organisers of the popular forest rally announcing a streamlined format that caters for both competitors and rally fans on the 30th March event.

Sponsored once again by North Wales Rally Services, the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club organised event, will offer 45 miles of top-quality stages in the Dyfi and Gartheiniog forest complex, just a few miles away from the rally base at Dolgellau Farmers Market. Read More »

The eagerly anticipated regulations for this year’s RSAC Scottish Rally are now available and organisers are delighted to confirm a brand new format for the 19th of May event which sees two separate rallies packed into one day in the Dumfries and Galloway forests.

In a change to the regular schedule, competitors in two-wheel-drive (2WD) vehicles will be heading into the classic forest tests in Eskdalemuir and Beattock on Saturday morning, with the four-wheel-drive (4WD) crews set to compete across the same stages later in the day. Nick Elliott and Dave Price took a dominant two wheel drive victory at the North Wales Rally Services – Rally North Wales today (24th March), with Dylan Davies and Llion Williams picking up the four wheel drive win at the re-vamped event.

The 60th running of the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club organised rally saw a shift in format for the 2018 event as over 120 crews headed to Dolgellau for the opening round of the Fuchs MSA British Historic Rally Championship, Rally2 series and second round of the Pirelli MSA Welsh Rally Championship. A new rally championship has been launched this week which aims to rejuvenate the camaraderie and prime quality gravel conditions for two-wheel drive competitors in 2018 across five forest events in the UK.

In an idea devised by well-known Scrutineer John Cooper, the Rally2 Championship will follow the newly announced Rally 2WD format, which has been widely praised as a transformation of rallying for the 2wd fraternity. Read More »
