The 2015 Britpart Cross Country Championship gets underway this weekend (11/12 April) with the support of new series partner RAVENOL oil and the prospect of perhaps the most competitive season ever for Britain’s premier off-road championship.

The iconic Pikes Peak in Mid Wales will be the venue for the season opener with 2014 champion Mike Moran on hand to begin the defence of his crown. He will be using the same AT 4×4 Challenger that took him to victory last year but the team have been working hard during the closed season to rescue the vehicle’s weight as well as getting more power out of its Jaguar engine.

Second car off will be the Land Rover Tornado of Paul Myers from title sponsors Britpart. He will be followed by the Simbugghini driving by Andy Powel with British Touring Car ace Phil Ibbotson sat alongside him. Nicky Grist, in partnership with RAVENOL high performance motorsport lubricants, is laying down the gauntlet to all rally drivers to see who is the best national rally driver in the UK. The RAVENOL Nicky Grist Challenge is a one day shoot out to be held on the Nicky Grist Stages on the 12th July, with any entrant into the rally in any class getting the opportunity to prove their ability.

The overall winner will receive up to eight paid rally entries in to the 2015 BTRDA Rally Series, with up to £3000 of RAVENOL products to ensure their car is perfectly lubricated for each rally event.

RAVENOL sponsored Bamboo WTCC team are counting the trophies after a victorious weekend at the Salzburgring in Austria in the latest round of the WTCC. James Nash delivered Bamboo’s first ever WTCC outright victory, a second place, an independent win and an independent second place with Alex MacDowall also claiming an Independent podium and fastest lap honours.
