Cumbrian racing driver Frank Bird returned to race action at the weekend where he contested round Frank Birdtwo of the ADAC GT Masters series at the Red Bull Ring in Austria but after a promising start to the event, he left disappointed.

Driving for MANN-FILTER Team LANDGRAF, Penrith-born Frank once again teamed up with 18-year-old Finnish driver Elias Seppanen for the two races in the Frank Bird Poultry Ltd-backed Mercedes AMG-GT3.

Having raced at the circuit near Spielberg previously, Frank, who was a two-times winner in the GT World Challenge Europe last year, was confident of improving on his results at the previous round at Oschersleben in Germany last month. Read More »

Renault Sport Formula One Team’s Jolyon Palmer finished just half a second away from the points with his third eleventh place finish of the season in the Austrian Grand Prix whilst Nico Hülkenberg finished in P13 as a consequence of a poor start off the line.

Jolyon hounded P10 finisher Lance Stroll for most of the race but was unable to find a way past, whilst Nico dropped back from P11 at the start as his car’s anti-stall kicked in. Read More »

Renault Austrian16aRenault Sport Formula One Team moved up the order in the Austrian Grand Prix with Jolyon Palmer finishing just shy of the points in twelfth after starting 20th and Kevin Magnussen finishing fourteenth after starting 17th. The positions gained were despite a mid-race safety car which was less than complimentary to the team’s tyre strategy and a five second penalty for Kevin for blocking a rival. Read More »
