Reis Race Retro, Europe’s number one historic motorsport show, secured a ‘podium finish’ with enthusiasts who braved the inclement weather over the weekend and hailed the 2020 event ‘the best ever.’

Blustery winds and the odd squally shower hit the rally stage on this years Race Retro. With better spectator viewing the weather did not put off the spectators, for the 1st run at least, as well over 100 different cars tackled the main feature stage and the rally rides stage. With everything from contemporary R5’s through to Group A, Kit cars, Group B, Group 4, Land Crabs and many more, there was a huge variety of cars on display. Didier Auriol was the main name from the past who put in several runs in the Sierra Cosworth, whilst 2019 ERC Champion Chris Ingram was present to have a play in a few cars too. Read More »

It was that time of year again to make the trip to Stoneleigh for Race Retro. Once again the show took place over 3 days with the Friday being our main day at the show and Saturday dedicated to the live rally stage. The show had the usual mix of classic cars with the main stage being flanked by a string of impressive cars. In the rally hall there was a display in memory of the double British Rally Champion Russell Brookes, with a fine selection of the distinctive Andrews Heat for Hire liveried vehicles. Reis Race Retro has revealed the Formula One cars and the stars associated with F1 that will be a part of ‘The Greatest Grid’ celebrations at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, from 21-23 February.

The display will feature no less than seven F1 cars and will be supported by appearances by F1 driver Martin Donnelly, Technical Director and Chief Designer Tony Southgate who worked with BRM, Shadow and Arrows, ex- BAR Team Principal David Richards and McLaren’s former number-one mechanic, Marc ‘Elvis’ Priestley. The 18th edition of Reis Race Retro, held at Stoneleigh Park, Coventry from 21-23 February, will pay tribute to legendary Jaguar test development driver, Norman Dewis OBE.

The show’s ‘Hall of Fame’ will feature a special three-car display, with cars supplied by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. Norman Dewis was a motorsport legend and a long-time friend of the show, as well as being responsible for the development of some of Jaguar’s most iconic models. Read More »

French Rally driver Didier Auriol, who won the World Rally Championship (WRC) in 1994, will make his debut at this year’s Reis Race Retro. He will be joined by the current European Rally Champion Chris Ingram.

Born in Montpellier and initially an ambulance driver, Auriol started rallying in an old Simca 1000. After winning his first French Rallye Championship in 1986 behind the wheel of a Metro 6R4, he repeated his success in 1987 and ’88 but this time in a works Ford Sierra RS Cosworth. Read More »

Motorsport enthusiasts will be welcomed to the 2020 Reis Race Retro by Kevin ‘KeKi’ Kivlochan’s stunning racing Cobra. Not only does this competition car boast a fascinating place in the history of the model but it has notched up amazing success in the 2019 HSCC Historic Road Sports Championship.

Known in Cobra circles as ‘The FoMoCo Blue Demo’, chassis number CSX 2360 was delivered to Lew Spencer’s Hi-Performance Motors in Los Angeles on 29 January 1965. Intended as a demonstrator, potential customers would be treated to some very exciting test drives courtesy of Peter Brock, designer of the Daytona Cobra and split-screen Chevrolet Corvette. Reis Race Retro, Europe’s number one historic motorsport show, has forged a new partnership with governing body Motorsport UK. Both organisations will work together to encourage more people to get involved in all disciplines of grass roots motorsport which are showcased at the three-day event when it returns to Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, from 21-23 February.

As well as widening the appeal to newcomers to the sport, Motorsport UK’s 30,000 license holders and 720 affiliated clubs will benefit from discounted tickets to Reis Race Retro.
