TCR International Series – Victory for Huff, championship lead for Vernay
Volkswagen driver Rob Huff (GB) claimed a victory at the penultimate race weekend of the TCR International series in Zhejiang (CHN). RML salutes HuffOn Monday the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) awarded Rob Huff his second successive Gold Star award in recognition of his hard fought 2012 victory for the RML-managed Chevrolet FIA World Touring Car team.

Devised in 1928 as recognition of a member’s outstanding performance over the course of a year, the exclusive BRDC Gold Star has included recipients such as Sir Stirling Moss OBE, Mike Hawthorn and Jim Clark. Read More »

On Sunday Rob Huff sealed the FIA 2012 World Touring Car Drivers’ Championship at Macau in a hard fought final round against his RML team mates Alain Menu and Yvan Muller.  This is the third consecutive WTCC Drivers’ Championship that RML has won together with the third consecutive WTCC Manufacturers’ Championship for Chevrolet, which was secured two rounds previously in Japan.

In the process RML set another record for Chevrolet for 2012, being the first constructor in the WTCC to pass 1,000-points in a single season.  In total over the course of the last eight years, RML has scored a record breaking 68 race wins and 36 pole positions in the WTCC for Chevrolet, making this the most successful partnership in the history of the Championship.
