After 15 years the Rockingham Stages was the last event to be held at the Northamptonshire circuit, before it closes at the end of the year. Having attended most of those it was a sad final visit. Paul King & Alicia Miles (Escort MkII) took victory on an event that has served him well, but he was pushed hard by Darryl Morris & Mark Regan (Escort MkII) who finished just 13 seconds behind, after 12 stages. This Saturday (November 24) history will be made as the chequered flag comes down on motor racing for the final time at Rockingham with the Northamptonshire circuit set to close at the end of the year after 17-years.

The Rockingham Super Send-Off will be a day of celebration, providing an opportunity for the motorsport community to say goodbye to the circuit both on and off the track, with seven races scheduled throughout the day followed by fireworks.

Team Rockingham will be among the competitors on the grid for this landmark event, including the circuit’s Chief Executive and former historic racing driver, Peter Hardman, who will be racing in both the Sports & GT class and one-hour encounter. Read More »

Adam Morgan, Ashley Sutton and Chris Smiley shared the race winning spoils at Rockingham yesterday (12 August), whilst the battle for top spot in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship standings raged between Colin Turkington and Tom Ingram throughout the day.

Ciceley Motorsport with Mac Tools driver Morgan converted his first ever BTCC pole position into a commanding lights-to-flag victory in the opener, with Adrian Flux Subaru Racing star Sutton and Team Shredded Wheat Racing with Gallagher’s Tom Chilton completing the podium positions. Read More »

Daniel Rowbottom (Kidderminster) and first-time winner Jack McCarthy (Bromley) shared the victories in two pulsating Renault UK Clio Cup rounds at Rockingham over the weekend, but it is Max Coates (Scorton) who leaves the Northamptonshire circuit still ahead in the title race, albeit by the reduced margin of just seven points.

Team Pyro’s McCarthy had celebrated his 18th birthday by qualifying on pole position for the first of the two races, held on Saturday. He held the lead early on, too, but was soon passed by Rowbottom who, having come through from sixth on the grid, went on to achieve his and his small DRM team’s second win in three races.
