The 2019 BTRDA Rally Championship came to an exciting climax last weekend, as Scott Faulkner and Gareth Parry went head to head against rivals Pay Naylor and Ian Lawrence in a winner takes all battle on the Trackrod Rally.

“This event isn’t familiar for me” explained Faulkner getting the excuses in early. “I’ve only competed here once back in 2014 and that was in a Diesel Land Rover Defender! The speeds are going to be dramatically different today, but we’ve got the bit between our teeth and we’re ready for a battle!” Read More »

Former champion David Bogie and his navigator John Rowan brought their Skoda Fabia R5 home in second place, while Marty McCormack drove his similar machine to a fine third overall with Barney Mitchell reading the notes.

Tom Cave returned after a year’s absence and pushed the previous champions to the limit in the fight for a podium position. Two punctures on the final stage dropped Cave and co-driver Dale Bowen down the order and with no more spares in the car they were forced to retire. Read More »

After the success of Scott and Gareth’s 3rd Group N victory of 2018 last time out, the team at SF Rallying and C1-R LTD got to work pre-paring the Professional Motorsport World Expo-backed Evo 9 for the final round of the 2018 Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship.

Preparation for the Woodpecker stages got off to a bad start when only 2 days after returning from the previous Nicky Grist stages, Scott Mitsubishi suffered a catastrophic transmission failure on a shakedown test. That was, until long-serving sponsor Tony Robinson at Professional Motor-sport World Expo heard of the bad news. With Scott’s recent successes still fresh in mind, Tony agreed to help finance the repair of the transmission which would ensure the team could compete as planned on the Pirelli Welsh Championship’s most recent event based in Ludlow. Scott Faulkner end13aThe 2013 BTRDA Rally Championship season drew to a close in October on the Cambrian Rally. Unfortunately, the engine problems that Scott and the SFRallying team encountered on the previous rally had, as feared, put an end to their 2014 championship hopes. Additional sponsorship was desperately sought through the month of October as a new engine unit was required – however, the dream was over when the team realised that the initial 2013 budget would not cover a new engine and no further support was found to pay for the repairs.
