George Morrison suffered a cruel blow to the start of his Ravenol BTRDA Rally Series campaign when he was forced to retire his MG ZR on the opening stage of last weekend’s Somerset Stages Rally.

Cumbrian rally driver Aaron McClure suffered a cruel blow to his Ravenol BTRDA Rally Series hopes last weekend (8th April) as he retired from the Somerset Stages Rally during the closing stages of the event.

Reigning MSA English Rally Champion Sam Bilham continued his winning ways last weekend as he took his second DMACK Fiesta ST Trophy win in a row at the Somerset Stages in Minehead.

18-year-old Ed Fossey sprayed the champagne at the weekend on the Somerset Stages Rally (Saturday 8 April), round two of the BTRDA Rally Championship – taking a dominant win in the 1400S class and with it, the championship lead. Fine weather ensured fast action on Exmoor for the Somerset Stages Rally, as 95 crews left the start in Minehead. Stephen Petch & Michael Wilkinson (Fiesta WRC) were fastest on the opening stage and with a further 3 fastest stage times in the first 6 stages, they held a 6 second lead over Callum Black & Elliott Edmondson (Fiesta R5+). The crews then moved to the sealed surface and the two runs up the Porlock toll road saw Black claw back the 6 seconds to draw level before the final loop of gravel stages to come.
