fossey-2017-announce-bJersey-born rally star Ed Fossey will contest a full year of rallying in 2017 as he commits to the national British Trials and Rally Drivers Association (BTRDA) Championship aboard his Yokohama-backed Toyota Yaris.

The 18-year-old stepped up from the Junior 1000 series at the beginning of 2016 winning ‘The Next Big Step’ scholarship and undertook a development plan last year, selecting several unique events to develop his rallying skills with tarmac running and more importantly several events on a variety of gravel surfaces. After a fierce battle across 13 stages in the Exmoor forests, Rhuddlan’s Luke Francis and John H Roberts took a start to finish victory at the Somerset Stages Rally on Saturday (16th April). somerset16 (7)It was memories of 2000 as we approached the Somerset Stages with snow falling on the Quantocks. It didn’t settle however and it was a largely dry day which saw Luke Francis & John Roberts (Evo IX) fight a day long battle with Charles Payne & Carl Williamson (Fiesta). Francis took an early lead through the first two stages to lead by 8 seconds before Payne got his first stage win at Chargot. The pendulum swung back before Porlock where the 2nd run saw Francis drop time and his lead cut to just 3 seconds. A push on the first few stages of the afternoon gravel loop saw Francis extend his lead and he eventually won by 8 seconds from Payne. Read More »

Sam Bilham pre-Somerset162014 MSA RSF Young Driver of the Year Sam Bilham will head to the South West this weekend in a bid to stay on top of the BTRDA Fiesta ST Trophy standings at the third round of the series, the Somerset Stages Rally.
