The overnight rain left the Goodwood circuit slippy and very green for the first stage and it was Richard Weaver & James Pink (Evo VI) who took advantage of their four wheel drive to set fastest time by 9 seconds. It set the tempo and a heavy downpour after stage 2 really played in to the 4WD crews hands for the following stages. Weaver set fastest time on all 5 stages to the lunchbreak and followed up with two more after lunch, on a now dry track. With a 56s lead Weaver relaxed slightly on the last pair of stages to secure overall victory by 45s. Read More »

It may have been only our 2nd visit to the South Downs Stages, at Goodwood, but it witnessed a thrilling finale in challenging weather conditions. Lee Jones & Daniel Boshier (Ferrari 308 Michelotto) took victory by 7 seconds but had gone in to the final stage leading by only 1 second. Runners up were Ian & Oliver Hucklebridge (Escort MkII) with Dean Thomas & Mark Burt (DTR) just over a minute behind the winners. Read More »

Our first event proper of 2010 saw us make our first visit to Goodwood race track for the South Downs Stages. The iconic track hosted a special celebration to the TR7, with 6 cars competing and further examples of the V8 beast on display. The rally was dominated by the gaggle of Escort MkII’s which headed the field. Simon Mauger & Chris Butcher set fastest time on stage 1 and didn’t look back, taking victory by 30 seconds from Paul King & Alicia Miles. Completing the podium were Paul Diamond & Steve Cox who pipped the highest place TR7 of Alastair Flack & Ralph Higson on a tie-break. Read More »
