Contesting the full season next year, Kris Meeke will spearhead the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team, whilst Craig Breen will drive the second Citroën C3 WRC at ten rounds of the championship and Khalid Al Qassimi will appear in a third car at a handful of rallies. Sébastien Loeb will be making a much-anticipated return to the WRC with the brand in Mexico, Corsica and Catalonia. Meanwhile, Stéphane Lefebvre will be tasked with driving the Citroën C3 R5 on its debut season in the WRC2.

The Citroën Total Abu Dhabi WRT had a frustrating final leg of the season with two of its crews – Stéphane Lefebvre/Gabin Moreau and Craig Breen/Scott Martin – retiring after going off within a few minutes of each other. Having re-joined under Rally2 rules, Kris Meeke and Paul Nagle ended Rally Australia in seventh position.

With Kris Meeke/Paul Nagle’s win and the sixth place secured by Stéphane Lefebvre/Gabin Moreau, the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi WRT enjoyed its best weekend since the start of the year. On the season’s only mixed-surface rally, the team led by Yves Matton was able to demonstrate the potential of the C3 WRC on all surfaces and prove the value of all the hard work undertaken in recent months.

BACK TO SCHOOL FOR THE WRC

After a six week break, the World Rally Championship returns to action with the RallyRACC Catalunya – Rally de España (05-08 October). Three C3 WRCs have been entered for the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team.

The Citroën Total Abu Dhabi WRT’s three C3 WRCs at RallyRACC Catalunya – Rally de España, in October, will be driven by Kris Meeke/Paul Nagle, Stéphane Lefebvre/Gabin Moreau and Khalid Al-Qassimi/Chris Patterson. Craig Breen/Scott Martin will take part in the recce in Spain and will then contest the last two rounds of the season: Wales Rally GB (26-29 October) and Rally Australia (16-19 November). Citroën Racing would like to wish Andreas Mikkelsen/Anders Jæger the best of luck, as they will be making their debut for a new team after contesting three rallies in the C3 WRC. Read More »

Craig Breen and Scott Martin finished Rally de Portugal fifth overall, the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi WRT’s highest-placed crew. All four of the team’s Citroën C3 WRCs made it to the end of the season’s sixth round.

The Tour de Corse provided further drama on the third and final day, as Craig Breen and Scott Martin dropped back to fifth overall, losing out on fourth place by just a tenth of a second. Stéphane Lefebvre and Gabin Moreau made sure that Citroën Total Abu Dhabi WRT scored points with two of its C3 WRCs in France.

After Ajaccio and Bastia, the Tour de Corse headed for Porto-Vecchio on Sunday. The final leg consisted of just two stages: Antisanti – Poggio di Nazza (53.78km) and the Palombaggia Power Stage (10.42km). Read More »
