With the 2018 WRC seeing a titanic battle between three drivers from three different manufacturers, it was all to play for on the gravel tracks of North Wales. Ott Tanak & Martin Jarveoja (Yaris WRC) looked to continue his good run of form and looked like he was going to make it 4 in a row before he pulled up on the 2nd run through Sweet Lamb. This left Sebastien Ogier & Julien Ingrassia (Fiesta WRC) in the lead going in to the final day. Jari-Matti Latvala & Miikka Antilla (Yaris WRC) was not far behind and took the lead on the 2nd stage of the Sunday. Ogier then fought back and took victory by just over 10 seconds, revitalising his championship hopes. This weekend Citroën Total Abu Dhabi WRT heads to Wales, the venue for round eleven of the championship, which will see some of the most unpredictable, slippery conditions of the season. With Craig Breen / Scott Martin and Mads Østberg / Torstein Eriksen still representing the team, Citroën has high hopes for a rally where historically the team has performed well.

Up-and-coming rally driver Finlay Retson will take on the biggest challenge of his short career, by tackling a round of the FIA World Rally Championship next week, the Dayinsure Wales Rally GB (4th -7th October).

The 18-year old will be one of the youngest drivers in the rally and will contest the gruelling four-day event behind the wheel of his Ford Fiesta R2. Based in Deeside near Chester, the event plays host to the final two rounds of the Prestone MSA British Rally Championship and the Blairgowrie pilot is still in with an outside chance of taking the hotly contested Cadet Cup title after a stunning victory at the Ulster Rally in August.
