harryflatters15 (5)Wet and windy conditions dominated the day on this years Harry Flatters which saw Damian Cole & Jack Morton take their Fiesta WRC to a maiden victory. At the lunch break they were second overall after an understandably tentative start in the new car which saw an inspired Mark Jones & Terry Martin (BMW M3) take the lead by 18 seconds. A string of 3 further fastest stage times saw Cole win by 49 seconds with Jones a superb 2nd overall. A broken windscreen wiper saw Eian Pritchard & Steve McPhee (Focus WRC) drop a whole heap of time on the opening stage but with that fault fixed they came back through the field to finish 3rd overall. WWRS15 Carlisle APhil Burton and Mal Capstick won again in the fifth round of the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship, Saturday’s DMACK Carlisle Stages (13 June). They were also third overall two-wheel drive car on the rally.

Burton’s crew had to resolve some rear suspension issues at second service after the rough section in Chamot Hill. He then attacked in the final 14-miler in Kershope before catching the dust of another car but still arrived back at the finish as the leading R.A.C. finisher once more in his Open Category Ford Escort Mk2. “We caught Brian Bell’s Focus WRC in the last stage and did eight miles in his dust,” said Burton. WWRS15 CarlislePhil Burton and Mal Capstick won again in the fifth round of the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship, today’s DMACK Carlisle Stages (Saturday 13 June).

Burton overcame rear suspension dramas and catching the dust of another car in the final 14-mile stage to be top R.A.C. finisher once more in his Open Category Ford Escort Mk2, while brothers Leigh and Chris Armstrong were leading historic finishers in their Ford Escort Mk2 after a strong performance. WWRS15 pre-CarlisleThe West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship heads north for round five, the DMACK Carlisle Stages (Saturday 13 June).

The championship, organised by the Roger Albert Clark Rally Motor Club, runs in parallel to the Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship and is aimed at clubmen historic crews as well as those running in the Open Category. With containing costs for clubmen as a prime aim, the championship runs to a six-tyre rule on all events. Read More »

Spectator information for the DMACK Carlisle Stages (Saturday 13 June) has been announced, with spectator locations available at five of the six special stages. The DMACK Carlisle Stages is organised by the Roger Albert Clark Rally Motor Club.

With a superb 130-car entry, with quality to match the quantity, the rally is a round of the REIS/Ravenol BTRDA Rally Series, the MSA English Rally Championship and the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship. The event is also a round of the S G Petch Association of North East and Cumbria Car Clubs Stage Rally Championship and the Association of Northern Car Clubs Forest Challenge. WWRS15 SVSJames Potter and Bob Duck were the top finishers in the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship during round four, the Severn Valley Stages (Saturday 30 May).

Potter and Duck moved ahead in the overall R.A.C. standings in their Ford Escort Mk2 when Open Category runners Phil Burton and Mal Capstick smashed a wheel on their Escort MK2 and handed victory in the Open section to the Toyota Corolla of Graham Waite and Mike Reynolds. Read More »

SVS15 CeenBob Ceen and Andy Bull took a dominant victory at this weekend’s Severn Valley Stages, winning all but two stages of the Midland Manor Motor Club organised event.  The Subaru Impreza WRC crew took a two second lead on the opening Cefn test and reached the Royal Welsh Showground finish podium in the same spot despite a last minute gear change issue on the road section back to the Builth Wells finish.  The duo would also take maximum points in the Pirelli MSA Welsh Rally Championship which was essential to their title hopes thanks to a non-score on the Plains Rally earlier in the month. severnvalley15 (5)The Severn Valley Rally saw victory for Bob Ceen & Andy Bull (Impreza WRC) after a dominant display saw them build their lead up throughout the event. 2014 winners Luke Francis & John Roberts (Evo IX) were 2nd, some 24 seconds back with Dylan Davies & Llion Williams (Impreza) completing the podium 46 seconds further back. In the Historics Richard Hill & David Jones (Escort MkII) took victory from Jason Pritchard & Phil Clarke (Escort MkII) by ten seconds with Paul Barrett & Dai Roberts (Escort MkII) completed the podium, eight seconds further behind.
