It was over to Weston Park to complete a tarmac rally filled weekend. Huw James & Ian Jones (Escort MkII) blasted into an early lead, going fastest through the opening 6 stages. With stage 8 cancelled they had enough in hand and took victory by 25s from Oliver Davies & Ben Innes (Escort MkII). They had been in an event long battle for 2nd place with Gary Thomas & Ben Ruff (Escort MkII) and came out on top by jusy 2s. Seeded at car 31, Steve Chaney-North & John Pickvance (Escort MkII) finished a superb 4th overall with Aled Wyn Morgans & Mark Rodway (Escort MkII) completed the top 5. Read More »

After being delayed by a year the inaugural Rally Festival was off the ground and saw 1000’s of rally fans descend on Weston Park for 50+ rally cars from across the ages. The stage saw multiple changes throughout the day, running as pairs between each route change. The cars roughly ran in chronological order with the group 1 and group 2 cars starting things off before going through group 4, group B, group A and the early days of WRC machinery. Read More »

Due to the ongoing uncertainty around the global pandemic, Owen Motoring Club have taken the decision to postpone their annual AGBO Stages, held at Weston Park. The event will be moved from its usual March date and instead take place on Sunday 26th September 2021. All things permitting, this will be the 75 car, 10 stage event you have all come to know and love! More details to follow in due course.

It was a little bit something different for a rare chance to enjoy some motorsport on a leap year day as we took in the Network Q Rally Revival. It all started in Chester with a variety of road sections, mixed in with closed sections on private grounds. With the ford at Nant Mill overflowing the crews were re-routed and we picked them up on the World’s End section where the pot holed road had plenty of standing water. A drive down to Weston Park followed before we hot footed it up to Oulton Park for 2 runs around the rally school track and it proved to be an entertaining day. Read More »

agbo15 (1)A crisp start and a glorious day at Weston Park saw a superb day of rallying unfold in front of us. The top trio was an all Escort MkII affair in the end with 2014 winners Oliver & Ben Davies setting fastest time on the opening two stages from Paul Evans & Ashley Trimble, just 3 seconds behind after 2 stages. Roger Moran & Joy Hoyle were up to 3rd after the 2nd stage, by just a single second from Neil Weaver & James Bailey (Darrian T9 GTR). Davies was then fastest and joint fastest on the next pair of stages before the fastest times dried up. The remaining 6 stages were shared between Moran (4) and Evans (2) but Davies kept in the top 3 times throughout to take back-to-back victories by a 4 second margin. Read More »
