Who is the strongest rally driver in the world right now? The answer is simple : the one that is getting the best results: no “if”, “and” or “but”, and moreover no excuses. Certainly any criteria which translates results into numerical values is open to criticism , but the numbers and statistics normally photograph the real situation although they cannot cover all the possible variables which contribute to the results albeit marginal and often imponderable (climatic conditions, physical state of the driver, qualitative level of opposition).

The world rally ranking of the IRDA (International Rally Drivers Association) is a classification system for rally drivers and co-drivers, produced weekly by the IRDA to enable objective comparisons between the various drivers and co-drivers of the world who race in the various leagues and trophies, at world, continental and national level. About a month after the end of all championships, cups and rallies around the world entered in the FIA calendar, the IRDA (International Rally Drivers Association) announces that, taking into account all the rally car models produced by various manufacturers in the world, according to the number of rallies done by all the models of each manufacturer and the number of cars classified in the top thirty positions of each rally in the world entered in the FIA calendar, the No. 1 rally car manufacturer of  2011, according to the results/standings is Mitsubishi which, entering twelve models in the competitions of the 5 continents, beats Ford which used eleven models, third place goes to  Peugeot which also used a total of eleven models of cars. The RALLY CAR MANUFACTURERS WORLD RANKING comprises 23 manufacturers for a total of 132 car models
