  • MSA Asphalt Rally Championship
    For those who want to keep it on the tar then this is the championship for you. With epic multi-venue events and the best single venue events too.

  • Slowly Sideways
    Set up by Reinhard Klien this club is dedicated to the Group B era. They keep the cars running, albeit in private hands, and do many demonstration runs during the year.
  • HPM Motorsport
    Marcus Dodd’s team who run a quartet of Hyundai Accent WRC’s in the UK.

Rally Photography Sites

More rally and motorsport photographers are littered around the stages. Here are a few.

    A good group of photographers who produce world class images. They travel around the world and cover a wide array of events.
  • Vaudwebrally
    A nice site from our French colleagues. A good array of stills and videos also.
  • Mfoto Australia
    Fantastic selection of dusty rally action from the other side of the world.
  • KPB Photography
    Based out Herefordshire Kevin covers almost all things Welsh with forays further afield for the bigger events.
  • Devil Gas
    Rarely seen out on the stages these days, this site covers a number of sports, all of which are covered in a unique way.
  • Digital Motorsport
    Barney and Carol take some of the best photos out there. They are also the official champiosnhip photographers for the 205 and RWD challenges.

    Often seen photographing from up in the trees and catching the unusual angles, Geoff does a wide variety of work, (including his PR business).

    Another well respected photographer who turns out some quality work. His site is a great place to visit.

    Covering all forms of motorsport this site is the place for the official photographer to the British Rally Championship.

    One of the dominant forces in the JWRC for the last few years.

    Zimbabwe’s finest who is once again tackling the JWRC, BRC and African championships.

    Probably the best an most consistent team site from the WRC. Watch them scoobies go!
  • Andreas Mikkelsen
    This young Norwegian has taken the rallying world by storm. Winning his first event at 17 years old and 6 days. Surely a future world champion in the making.

Rally Results

When you want to know who did what then try these sites out.

  • Flying Finish
    This site covers all the major action North of the border. So if you want to catch up on the Snowman rally or the Jim Clark memorial rally then give this site a visit.
  • North East Rally Services
    Another site which covers the rallies that other sites seem to miss. Largely covering the asphalt rounds this site is easy to use.
  • Rallies.info
    Another site which covers the smaller events. Primarily covering Yorkshire this site has a good history too.
  • Tynecomp Rally Results Service
    This is the site to check out all your UK rally results. They also look after the rally driver rankings too.

International Rally Championships

All the best championships we’ve sampled through the years, when visiting overseas.

  • Australian Rally Championship
    Another championship littered with some of the worlds best stages. Also a cracking country to visit too.
  • World Rally Championship
    The ultimate, the WRC. This is where the best drivers and the works teams do battle in the best sport, in the World.

Rally Schools

Your first port of call if you want compete. You’ll need a BARS licence and here are some places to get them.

  • Bill Gwynne Rallyschool
    One the most well known rally schools, based in Northamptonshire. Also links through to the preparation business.
  • Forest Experience Rally School
    The Higgin’s brothers have pretty much dominated the British Rally scene, in recent years. So where better to learn the skills needed?!
  • John Haugland Rally School
    If want to try to learn the skills of rallying on ice and snow then this really is the place to go.
  • Phil Price Rally School
    Okay so we are biased but this is a personal favourite as we’ve been here and sideways in their Escort MkII’s. Superb, compact venue with a good mixture of challenges.
  • Rally School Ireland
    The place to learn in Ireland. With a superb selection of cars it is hard to fault this place.

Rally Car Sales

Well you’ll need to get the car from somewhere, and here are some places to look at.

    These guys can supply anything you might need for a Subaru WRC, from S5 to S11.
  • John Price Rallying
    The Asphalt legend of Metro 6R4 fame and Renault 5 Maxi Turbo fame, still peddles has what it takes.

    A whole host of makes are covered here, but Escort MkI & MkII’s are the speciality.

    Now primarily a Subaru man this site is a must for the Welsh rally enthusiasts.

Motor Clubs

The basis for all events is a motor club behind them. Get involved and join one.

  • Ecurie Royal Oak Motor Club
    This club organisies various events in East Anglia and the East Midlands.
  • Association of South Western Motor Clubs
    This site covers everything motrsport in the South West, from autocross to rallying and trials.
  • Association of West Midlands Motor Clubs
    Another website bringing together all the motor clubs within one region, this time our home area.
  • Brecon Motor Club
    With the Gremlin and Harry Flatters this club has two cracking events to its, with great names too.
  • Carmarthen Motor Club
    This club organises the Peter Lloyd and Coracle Stages. Not a bad pair of events at all.
  • Forresters Car Club
    This club primarily has events based in Caerwent but they also assist of numerous events in South Wales.
  • Motor Sports Association
    The governing body for all four wheel motorport in the UK. Packed with loads of information.
  • Newtown and District Motor Club
    Based in the heart of Wales this organises all kind of events from stage rallying to road rallying. Plus a dash of karting too.
  • Northallerton Automobile Club
    One of the many clubs based in teh North. This club has strong links with Croft circuit.
  • Owen Motoring Club
    This West Midlands based club has strong links to Rover and BRM.
  • Sutton & Cheam Motor Club
    One the best Motor Clubs serving the home counties. They use Longcross and many events and organise the Tempest rally.
  • Telford Auto Club
    This club normally has it’s events towards the beginning of the year. The Moonbeam being a well supported road rally.
  • Thame Motorsport Club
    A home counties motor club primarily involved in organising single venue asphalt rallies.
  • Tynemouth Motor Club
    The North Easts premier motor club who have a very active autocross calendar and have some excellent rallies too.
  • Rugby Motor Club
    Probably the nearest motor club to where we live. In fact their Mercian Road Rally literally goes past the front door.
  • Bolton-le-Moors Car Club
    A prominent motor club who organise road rallies and autotests.
  • Port Talbot Motor Club
    Few clubs organise as many high profile events during the year. The Tour of Epynt, Red Dragon and Swansea Bay are 3 big events in anyones calendar.
  • West Essex Car Club
    The organisers of the Millbrook Stages this club is active in stage rallying and looking to add to their list of events.
  • Forest of Dean Motor Club
    Our motor club which organises the Wyedean Forest Rally amongst other events.
  • Quinton Motor Club
    Based in the Heart of England this club organises various events throughout the year.

WRC & International Rallies

Dedicated sites to all the best rallies, outside of the British Isles.

  • Rally New Zealand
    This one is a true classic as the WRC crews tackle some fearsome roads. Most of the tracks they use are public gravel roads too!
  • Eifel Rallye
    A cracking event as this one is normally supported by the Slowly Sideways crews.
  • Ypres Westhoek Rally
    Okay so 2001 was when we last visited this event, but what an event it is. Well worth the short hop over the channel.
  • Wales Rally GB
    Our round of the WRC championship and we always have to attend this one.

British Gravel Rallies

For those like it dusty and dirty these are the rallies to visit.

  • Astra Stages
    A long term favourtie of ours which now incorporates many of events in one rally. Notable round two of the HRCR championship.
  • Grizedale Stages
    Traditional season finale event in the North West, utilising the rarely used Lake District stages.
  • Premier Rally
    The last event of the year in Sherwood Forest. The most compact rally of the 3 per year, almost entirely based in Clipstone Forest.
  • Red Kite Stages
    The event that usually starts our season off. This is normally the first of many visits to the Brecon/Llandovery area.
  • Border Counties Rally
    Jedburgh is the host town for this event based in Kielder, part of the Scottish championship.
  • Rallye Sunseeker
    The premier event for Southern England. The final round of the BRC.
  • Trackrod Rally
    We really enjoy this rally at it uses some of the best known stages, in and around the Dalby Forest complex.
  • Cambrian Rally
    The season finale in the BTRDA series. Always a cracking entry, just a shame the weather is normally bad.
  • Dukeries Rally
    One of three major rallies in Sherwood Forest. This one is a BTDRA round held in the summer.
  • North Humberside Forest Rally
    A former round of the BTRDA championship based in Northern England.
  • Quinton Stages
    This rally is normally at the start of the second half of the BTRDA championship.
  • Woodpecker Rally
    Based out of Ludlow this event has been a must for us for a long time now.
  • Plains Rally
    The penultimate round of the BTRDA championship, this event has ahd some illustrious winners in the past.
  • Malcolm Wilson Rally
    One of just two events per year based purely in the Lake District. This event is always challenging.

British Asphalt Rallies

The speeds are higher on these ones for those who need an extreme adrenaline rush.

  • Rally of the Midlands
    Our home event striving to become the first closed road rally in England. Now I can think of a few potential stages nearby …
  • Rockingham Stages
    A great event at the end of the year, which packs in 100 miles on a single venue.
  • Rally Day
    Okay so strictly speaking this is not rally but where else do you get to see WRC cars alongside group B monsters?
  • Tour of Mull
    Probably the best rally in the world, fact. A legendary event which still remains one dominated by local crews.
  • Tour of Cornwall
    A fair trek to this one but one that has built up a big following over the years.
  • Jim Clark Rally
    A rarity as this one is a closed road asphalt rally, in the UK mainland. A round of many championships.

Clubmen Drivers

Most of these guys do it for the love of the sport. If only we had the money to compete.

  • Robert Fagg
    Top Manx co-driver who mixes his home events with the BRC. Running with Wyn Humphreys this season.
  • Andy Bull
    Exciting times ahead for Andy as he embarks on the MG S2000 program in the BRC, alongside Stuart Jones. Let’s hope this car and crew are successful.
  • Alan & Denise Desbois
    This Somerset based crew are BTRDA regulars in their unique creation.
  • Andy Burton’s Peugeot Cosworth
    What can we say. The single most followed car in the country, which has fans travelling hundreds of miles just to see it.
  • Denis Biggerstaff
    A legend in Ulster and for good reason. This once Metro 6R4 driver still wheels the old car out every now and again but is an Impreza man now.
  • Paul Alexander
    Sadly Paul’s outings are few and far between but when he is out he is always great to watch.
  • Mad Malc Hague
    Probably the nicest guy in British rallying and one of the most entertaining to watch too.
  • Ryan Champion
    One of the top UK drivers who has always proved his ability in whatever championship he has competed in.
  • Neil Weaver Motorsport
    Probably one of the finest drivers in the UK at the moment.
  • Janice Moore
    Janice may not be a driver but she is one hell of a co-driver with an impressive rallying CV.
