Motorsport UK announce Young Media Award winners

Motorsport UK is delighted to announce that Alex Kalinauckas and Jack Clayden are the latest recipients of the Young Journalist and Young Photographer of the Year Awards.

The Motorsport UK judges were impressed by the high standard of submissions from 2020 applicants. And after much deliberation from the judging panel, comprised of media professionals and past winners, Alex Kalinauckas from Autosport scooped the journalist title, while freelance photographer Jack Clayden claimed the photographic honour.

Manx National Rally forced to cancel due to Coronavirus

Organisers of the Manx National Rally are disappointed to announce that the 2021 event, planned for 14th and 15th of May will not go ahead due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

Manx Auto Sport, organiser and promoter of the Isle of Man-based closed-road event had been in the advanced stages of planning for the popular two-day rally which would see a host of competitors from across the UK and beyond contest over 120 stage miles across the island’s roads.

Organisers of the Beatson’s Building Supplies Jim Clark Rally regret to announce that the 2021 event, planned for 28th – 30th May will not go ahead due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

The organising committee of the popular Borders rally has been closely monitoring the pandemic over recent weeks and was well advanced in the planning of the Duns based closed-road rally which was set to welcome ten major rally championships.

Herefordshire Trial cancelled

With the country in the grip of Covid, last week the decision was made to either cancel or postpone the VSCC Spring trials to April.

Working with the current calendar of events we ended up with two trials keen to run but insufficient weekends to accommodate them.

Series Organiser, TOCA, has today (14 January) issued a revised calendar for the 2021 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship.

Hall secures inaugural RAF Virtual Rally Championship title

World Rally Championship co-driver and Royal Air Force Reservist Phil Hall proved his talents lay on both sides of the cockpit by winning the inaugural RAF Virtual Rally Championship title.

Hall, a regular competitor in the FIA World Rally Championship turned his hand to online gaming during an enforced sabbatical due to COVID-19, lifting the first series trophy to beat a number of eager RAF gamers all battling it out on the DiRT Rally 2.0 game.

Originally this was written on Monday 4th January at 10am talking you through our plan for Jan/Feb however at 8pm last night it took on a very different message….
