Motorsport UK British Rally Championship front-runner Garry Pearson will contest the exciting McRae Rally Challenge at Knockhill Race Circuit this weekend [2/3 July] behind the wheel of his Ford Fiesta Rally2.

Fresh from a podium at his home event the Jim Clark Rally, the Duns ace will see a new co-driver step into the passenger seat as VK Timber & Builders Merchants join Pearson as title sponsor for the invitational event. Zandvoort in The Netherlands was the desitination for round three of the ADAC GT Masters Series Frank Birdwhere once again Cumbrian racing driver Frank Bird was in action and came away with a top five placing.

Driving for MANN-FILTER Team LANDGRAF, Penrith-born Frank once again teamed up with 18-year-old Finnish driver Elias Seppanen for the two races in the Frank Bird Poultry Ltd-backed Mercedes AMG-GT3. Read More »

Five-times Scottish Rally Champion David Bogie stormed to victory at the Dunoon Presents Argyll Rally [24/25 June] last weekend, taking his MINI JCW WRC to a maiden Argyll Rally win.

Bogie would team up with co-driver Cammy Fair for the first time, and despite a slow start through the tricky Dunoon Town street stage, eventually finished over a minute ahead of nearest rivals David Henderson and Chris Lees. Motorsport UK and the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Motorsport today presented Our Eclectic Future at British Motorsport Day in the Palace of Westminster to showcase the vision of a world powered by a range of use-appropriate systems and fuels.

The J1000 Ecosse Challenge heads to Knockhill for round 3 of the 2022 season, the McRae Junior Rally Challenge, part of the McRae Rally Challenge, a celebration of rallying legend Colin McRae.

A new event for us and an absolute belter too as we visited the Argyll peninsular for the first time. David Bogie & Cameron Fair (Mini Countryman WRC) took victory by just over a minute from David Henderson & Chris Lees (Fiesta Rally2). Bogie took the lead after stage 4, the final stage of Friday evening and one that would prove pivotal. Mark Kelly & Will Atkins (Fiesta R5) were leading after 3 stages but the rain caught them out, as it did many crews, with Kelly having a huge off on the Otter Ferry stage. Michael Binnie & Claire Mole (Evo IX) completed the podium, with Freddie Milne & Patrick Walsh (Fiesta Rally2) 4th and Gordon Morrison & Hannah Davison (Fiesta R5) in 5th place. 10th overall and first 2WD crew home were Greg McKnight & Calum MacPherson (Escort MkII). Oulton Park’s signature Historic Gold Cup returns on a new peak summer date with three days of glorious automotive nostalgia on 29-31 July. Tickets for this year’s event are available in advance now from £22 with free entry for under-13s.

Visitors to this year’s meeting will revel in a significantly refreshed on-track line-up celebrating motor racing history, with competitive action overseen by the Historic Sports Car Club. The Board of Motorsport UK confirms that disqualification from holding or obtaining a driving licence under the Road Traffic Acts (‘RTA’) following conviction for offences under that legislation is incompatible with the holding of an ASN Competition Licence.

This incompatibility is a combination of the regulatory requirements of the sport in respect of the highest standards of conduct and behaviour, potentially bringing motorsport into disrepute and the alignment of the ASN with and support of the FIA programmes for action on road safety in a global context.

Dunoon will be welcoming over 140 rally cars and crews to the Cowal Peninsula this weekend as the Dunoon Presents Argyll Rally hosts one of the biggest motorsport events in Western Scotland on 24/25 June.

Taking place on the closed-public roads surrounding the coastal town of Dunoon for a second year in a row, a bumper list of entries will tackle two days of fast-paced rallying with some of the best sealed-surface rally drivers in the country taking part in the unique motorsport weekend. Read More »
