Barnsley rally driver David White had a difficult start to the season last weekend when he contested the opening round of the 2017 Prestone MSA British Rally Championship (BRC), the Border Counties Rally.

After two hard fought days in the forests surrounding the Jedburgh base, White and son Matthew in the co-drivers seat, overcame transmission issues during Friday night to finish runner up in the BRC4 category and 26th overall. Read More »

Chesterfield rally star Rhys Yates stamped his authority firmly on the Prestone MSA British Rally Championship (BRC) leader board last weekend as he took his Ford Fiesta R5 to fifth place at the Brick and Steel Border Counties Rally.

In only his second season in the series, Yates triumphed over many more experienced competitors and his top five result meant he was also the first English driver home in the ultra-competitive BRC field. Read More »

– JD Classics has kicked off the racing season in style, with two wins and a podium finish at the 75th Goodwood Members’ Meeting
– The Maldon-based team raced to a double victory in its Rover SD1, competing in the two Gerry Marshall Trophy races
– JD Classics also battled in a close-fought race to finish 2nd in the Scott Brown Trophy with its Lister Costin
– A total of seven cars were campaigned by JD Classics, including debuts for the Cooper T45 and Alfa Romeo 8C 2600 Monza

– Gabriele Tarquini will be the lead test driver for Hyundai Motorsport’s TCR project
– The role is Tarquini’s first official involvement with a TCR project during a touring car career spent driving for manufacturer teams at highest level
– His first test is scheduled for early April, with the first completed cars planned for delivery in December.

Hyundai Motorsport has signed Gabriele Tarquini as the lead test driver for the TCR project, which was announced last month. The Italian will work alongside the engineers and designers in the Customer Racing department throughout the development phase of the new car. Read More »

A dank and dreary day in Walters seemed a World away from the weather conditions we experienced in 2016, on the corresponding weekend. Still the competition was more intense, largely due to a fantastic entry. The route was good too as the proportion of category one tracks used was down slightly and those used were frequently interspersed with more challenging sections. Jock Armstrong and Paula Swinscoe won their second consecutive Brick & Steel Border Counties rally this weekend and with it, round two of the 2017 ARR Craib MSA Scottish Rally Championship (SRC).

The Subaru Impreza crew won the event by just under 20 seconds, taking the lead early on and holding onto their advantage throughout the day. Read More »
