The Polestar Cyan Racing line-up in the 2017 FIA World Touring Car Championship season finale in Qatar will be strengthened by quadruple World Champion, Yvan Muller, who will take the seat of the third Volvo S60 Polestar TC1.

“I am glad to be back racing again after working hard together with the team during this season to get us in a double points lead ahead of the final race weekend. My objective is to help Thed become driver’s World Champion and support Polestar Cyan Racing to deliver the team World Championship. Pledges of support from 50 crews have now been received for Rally North Wales, which will be the first rally to be organised to the new Rally 2WD format on Saturday 24 March.

The team behind Rally 2WD has been working behind the scenes to confirm support for the first event and now have 50 commitments from the historic fraternity, with more expected. Importantly, the numbers include at least 15 cars from Category 1 (pre-1968), which will be a massive improvement over this season when only two or three of the older cars were active on forest rallies.

The organising team from Wolverhampton and South Staffs Car Club has planned its annual event in the classic Welsh forests around R2WD, the new initiative designed to rekindle support for gravel rallying for all two-wheel drive cars, both modern and historic. Read More »

The Fifth anniversary of the Junior 1000 Ecosse Challenge attending the Glyn Memorial Junior Rally on Anglesey on 25/26th November was celebrated in style when top podium position overall was taken by a Scottish crew after 2 days of tough rallying. A total of 9 crews headed South on Friday 24th to “acclimatise” for the 2 day event which included 4 stages out of 8 in the dark on day 1 followed by a further 8 on day 2. Some had to fight their way through some of the first snow to hit Southern Scotland and everybody got a good “drooking” on the M6. But it was a happy eager bunch who gathered around the Saltire fluttering on the Championship motor home on Saturday morning. Leading motorsport and technology company chief and former World Rally Championship-winning co-driver David Richards is to deliver the 2018 Motorsport Safety Fund’s Watkins Lecture at the Autosport International show.

The Prodrive chairman, who was appointed a CBE for his services to motorsport, will deliver the lecture, named after the late FIA Formula One Safety & Medical Delegate Professor Sid Watkins, less than a fortnight after taking over as chairman of UK motor sport’s governing body, the Motor Sports Association (MSA).
