Another trip up to Manchester for National Track Championships saw a long Saturday of action, for us. The highlights were many but Katie Archibald was on outstanding form and by the end of the weekend retained all three UK titles she won back in 2017. A damp and dreary Brands Hatch played host to the latest round of the Circuit Rally Championship and it saw Mark Kelly & Andy Baker (Escort MkII) take victory by six seconds. Their lead had been up over 20 seconds after two stages but Chris West & Keith Hounslow (306 Maxi) closed in through the rest of the rally and piled on the pressure for the afternoon’s 4 stages. 2nd overall was West’s reward after an attacking drive with 2016/7 Circuit Rally Champions Ian Woodhouse & Jason Leaf (Escort MkII) rounding out the podium, a further 17 seconds behind. After many years of non-attendance we finally got round to revisiting the Autosport International Show, at the NEC. The opening day coincided with the launch of the 2018 WRC championship, with both M-Sport and Citroen lining up with two of their crews, whilst Toyota and Hyundai had their full line-up in attendance. As well as the WRC there were many other launches including the Invictus team in British GT, the Ginetta LMP1 car, the Jaguar iPace eTrophy and many many more throughout the 4 days of the show. The season finale of Revolution in Manchester saw six-time Olympic Champion Jason Kenny return to racing for the first time since the Rio Olympics. The final race of the night sealed the Championship for Team Rowe & King as they stormed to victory in the Team Elimination putting them top of the table on 266 points ahead of WNT Rotor in second on 212 points.
