The Historic Rally Car Register (HRCR) are please to announce a new challenge series for 2016, designed to put the fun into historic stage rallying in the UK.

Seven rallies with eight scoring rounds have been carefully selected to offer value for money, great organisation and classic stages on a mixture of surfaces.

The closed to club Stage Masters Challenge 2016 will offer an overall Challenge winner, best performances on asphalt and gravel, plus class awards.

The best five scoring rounds will count, with more points available for the highlight of the calendar – the Killarney Stages Rally – which will allow crews to tackle the infamous Molls Gap, a must on most drivers bucket list. Read More »

The first-ever electric car to win the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb joins an increasingly strong line-up of innovations and panellists for the International Energy Efficient Motorsport Conference in association with AVL (formerly the Low Carbon Racing Conference).

This cornerstone event returns to the NEC, Birmingham, on Wednesday 13 January 2016. With more than 200 motorsport and automotive delegates from around the world expected to attend, it provides a unique opportunity to set the agenda for energy efficient racing over the next decade.

Jean-Éric Vergne secured his first points for DS Virgin Racing as he claimed a valuable six points at the FIA Formula E Punta del Este ePrix.

Starting at the back of the grid after a hard qualifying session, which saw him blocked in sector three, the Frenchman made up ground on those ahead of him and headed into the halfway stage of the race having made up five places. After successfully winning the Fanboost vote, the 25-year old was able to use the extra 100KJ of power gained, following the changeover, to overtake Stephane Sarrazin on lap 26 and set his sights on Nelson Piquet Jr.

A scintillating battle developed over the final half a dozen laps as Vergne went wheel-to-wheel with the Brazilian, before forcing a mistake to overtake on the penultimate lap. With Daniel Abt now in his sights, Vergne and his DSV-01 made up another position on the final lap to secure his first points finish with DS Virgin Racing. Read More »
