Mid 2016 Baggsy and the team headed to the Top Secret Ladoux Test Centre in France. An impressive tyre testing facility with 20 test tracks 45 km long in total, used for grip tests on wet or dry surfaces, handling tests, noise tests, comfort tests and more. But Baggsy wasn’t here for tyre testing, he was in the centre of France to teach Richard Hammond how to drift, properly! With filming well underway for the much anticipated ‘The Grand Tour’ Richard Hammond was keen to learn the correct techniques of professional drifters. First off he would need an instructor and a fully prepared drift car. His fellow Grand Tour hosts Jeremy Clarkson and James May had this covered in the form of Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni and his 700hp V8 S13.

2016 saw Baggsy return to Castle Combe Race Circuit for the petrolhead popular Forge Motorsport Action Day. Along with a select group of Forge associated drivers, Baggsy ripped up the black top of Castle Combe for the crowds in his V8 powered S13. Two demo sessions left the Wiltshire countryside circuit in a blanket of tyre smoke.

It was time to load up and head out again for Baggsy. A 28 hour road trip across Europe to the small town of Máriapócs, Hungary. Under the blistering Eastern European sun, it was time to get gnarly on the black top of RabócsiRing for the 2016 Drift Allstars Championship Final. Barely three weeks into 2016, and Baggsy headed out to Dubai to join his Nissan S13 comp car after shipping it out from the UK six weeks ago. A Royal Sheikh Palace Square, on the coast of the UAE is a pretty amazing place to kick off the 2016 season.


The race weekend would consist of two events rolled into one; the brand new ten-round King of Nations World Drift Championship, and the three-stop King of Desert Pro Series. Read More »
