Oman International Drift Championship Round 3 & 4

The team were very exited to get back to Oman for rounds 3 & 4 of the OIDC!

Once everyone arrived, the team gave the car a good check over and got ready for practice.

Baggsy got stuck into Qualifying.. on run 1 there was a minor issue of driving in the wrong direction on the new track layout…So there was a lot of pressure on run 2. The safest option was to put in a safe run to secure a place in the event. Baggsy landed in P13 with a solid second run.

Straight into race day, the car felt good and the morning’s practice went well. Baggsy’s top 32 battle was with Tymur Lypski. This has a one more time which Baggsy won and proceeded onto the top 16.

The team arrived in Oman on Monday 9th January, ready to get round 1 of the championship underway!

Sparco have sent us a brand new race suit that’s made its debut out in Oman!

First stop was to collect the Ps13 and supplies and get set up

The day before the event kicked off the OIDC team invited selected internationals to attend a press conference at the circuit to discuss the upcoming events and career highlights, to the local media.

Autosport International Show 2023

Baggsy’s Nissan GTR and Navarra-R are going to be at the Autosport International Show from 12th – 15th January.

The Nissan GTR will be on the Funk Motorsport stand #3751

Pay the GTR a visit and get some one on one with the brilliant heat management specialists at Funk Motorsport and their groundbreaking products.

The Nissan Navarra-R will be on the CTRL Stand #3652 in hall 3.

Baggsy and the team are going back to the Oman International Drift Championship

After taking the top spot as the OIDC champion in 2022, Baggsy and the team are very exited to get back out their and defend their title!

The OIDC is spread over four rounds;
12-13th January
19-20th January
9-10th February
16-17th February
On November 16th 2022 the team shipped the Nissan PS13 and all equipment off to Oman.

The PS13 arrived safely in Oman on 31st December 2022 and is now waiting to be reunited with the team, ready for another exiting season!

Baggsy smashes it at the OIDC with a 3rd and a win

Taking to the sands of Oman once again, Baggsy and the SB Motorsport crew spend 2 full weekends in the Persian Gulf sultanate to contest the final two rounds of the Oman International Drift Championship, facing competition from across Europe, the Middle East and even Central America!

OIDC Round 2!

In between workshop sessions building up the amazing Navara-R, Baggsy and the SB Motorsport crew took another trip to the Sultanate of Oman to take part in Rounds 2 and 3 of the Oman International Drift Championship, doing 2 rounds in one trip! Easily qualifying in the Top 32, Baggsy blitzed past Alwaleed Zaki Mahmoud in his own PS13, then in the Top 16 faced down the challenge from Sebastian Fontijn in his BMW E36 2JZ.

Another UKDC podium for Baggsy

Baggsy and the supercharged LSX-R V8-powered PS13 were both back in action at Teesside Arena for Round 4 of the UK Drift Championship! The weather was much cooler than the previous visit several weeks earlier, but the action was way hotter!

As usual, Saturday at UKDC was reserved for the Pro 2 class, and Baggsy and his team arrived during the day and started setting up to prepare for a full-throttle Sunday!

Once the drivers were allowed on the track Sunday morning, Pro practice was underway, and then it was on to the smoke-filled qualifying runs! Baggsy’s first run earned him a quite respectable 89.3 from the judges, giving him a spot deep into the Top 16.

A busy July for Baggsy!

First up: Goodwood #FoS!

This summer has already been extra-busy for Baggsy and the crew! First up, in early July, Baggsy brought the epic #LSXR35 GT-R Version 3 to the amazing Goodwood Festival Of Speed!

In addition to the now-familiar drift displays, smoking tyres, burning rubber doing neck-crunching donuts as they went up the famous 1.16 mile hillclimb route, this time all of the drift racers would compete against each other for the first time going up the hill in the first-ever Driftkhana competition!

Baggsy – The #PS13V8 is back

Back in November 2020 we shipped our Nissan PS13 comp car to Oman for the Oman International Drift Championship, unfortunately the organisers had to cancel their series.

So it’s been a while since we last saw the car, but last week Baggsy received a call that we had all been waiting for. After some serious shipping delays, the PS is back on British territory!

Now back at the workshop, fluid changes and spanner check done, the car has only been back for a day and it’s ready for its first event of the year.

Let’s talk about the first ever UK Drift Championship event. Located at the Three Sisters Circuit in Wigan on the 17th & 18th of April 2021.

You may all know the outcome for the SB team and Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni, securing third place on the podium.. but you may not know the full story.

Baggsy – Goodwood Speedweek – The Best Event of 2020

Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni and the SB Motorsport team had the chance to showcase drifting at the highest level.

Goodwood Motor Circuit set the stage last weekend for their 2020 stopgap event from the Festival of Speed, named Goodwood Speedweek. Baggsy coming back to Goodwood for his 5th consecutive year, he was ready to bring the smoke show for the fans.

Speedweek brings the greatest elements of the Festival of Speed and Revival, combined into one unmissable online event. Broadcast over all 3 days live on YouTube and ITV/ITV4 television channels, reaching millions at home.
