Bogie bags Dunoon Presents Argyll Rally victory

Five-times Scottish Rally Champion David Bogie stormed to victory at the Dunoon Presents Argyll Rally [24/25 June] last weekend, taking his MINI JCW WRC to a maiden Argyll Rally win.

Bogie would team up with co-driver Cammy Fair for the first time, and despite a slow start through the tricky Dunoon Town street stage, eventually finished over a minute ahead of nearest rivals David Henderson and Chris Lees. Michael Binnie and Claire Mole rounded out the top three in their Mitsubishi Evo IX.

The 27-year-old Duns driver had a dream start to the event in his Asset Alliance Group, RAVENOL and George Anderson Builders backed Ford Fiesta R5, leading the rally at the halfway point, only to lose over 50 seconds with a deflated tyre on the sixth test, demoting him to the runners up spot in the closing stages.

Thorburn clinches dramatic Argyll Rally battle

Duns rally driver Euan Thorburn scratched his name on the winner’s trophy of the Dunoon Presents Argyll Rally for the second time in his career, winning the closely fought event by over a minute from his nearest rival on Saturday (22nd June).

Driving his Ford Focus WRC, Thorburn and co-driver Paul Beaton powered to victory after eight stages in the Argyll and Bute forests, enduring technical forest tracks and high-speed sections to further cement his place as leader of the Scottish Rally Championship.
