The Fuchs Lubricants RACRMC Historic Rally Championship has launched details of the 2023 season, offering a top-drawer seven-round calendar for the year ahead.

After making the switch to an all-gravel series in 2022, following feedback from competitors the championship will introduce an asphalt round to the series, adding to six high quality forest events which encompass some of the best gravel stages in the country. Read More »

After recent clashes with the Manx National it was good to get back out on the Plains again and it gave us the opportunity to visit the Llangower stage for the first time too. Matthew Hirst & Declan Dear (Fiesta R5) were in a tight battle with David Henderson & Chris Lees (Fiesta R5). The battle switched almost every stage with Hirst leading by 3s into service. The gap was down to 1s after 7 stages but stage 8 saw Henderson retire and Hirst took a comfortable victory by almost a minute and a half. James Giddings & Aled Davies (Evo IX) were 2nd with Bob Morgan & Adie Williams (Fabia R5) completing the podium. Read More »

The Fuchs Lubricants British Historic Rally Championship will make its second foray into Wales on Saturday as the Plains Rally [21 May] plays host to the third round of series.

Based in Bala in the Snowdonia National Park, the event offers up a mouth-watering list of world-class stages which have hosted World Rally Championship protagonists over the years including Aberhirnant, Alwen and Clocaenog with ten stages and 42 miles of competitive driving set to test the BHRC crews. BTRDA Rally Series contender Sam Bilham was on track for the best of result of his career last weekend, before a puncture caused his retirement from round four of the championship, The Plains Rally (12th May).

The Greenlight Sports and Entertainment backed driver had taken his front-running Fiesta R5 into a career best fourth place after the second of five stages, only to suffer a puncture on the third, sending him tumbling down to sixth. Sadly, the puncture had subsequently caused more issues than first thought and Bilham would be forced to retire on his way to the penultimate stage of the day. Read More »

Greenlight Sports and Entertainment backed rally driver Sam Bilham is aiming to go at least “one better” than his previous results so far this season and break into the top five of this Saturday’s (12th May) Plains Rally, round four of the BTRDA Rally Series.

Despite being new to four-wheel drive machinery this season, Bilham has scored two impressive results behind the wheel of his Greenlight Sport and Entertainment and Swift Group supported Fiesta R5. Read More »

Heavy overnight rain dampened down the Dyfi complex of stages and it was Stephen Petch & Michael Wilkinson (Fiesta WRC) who took the lead on the opening stage. Callum Black & Elliott Edmondson (Fiesta) went fastest on the next stage to tie for the overall lead but two more fastest times for Petch followed and his lead was 4 seconds by mid event service. In the afternoon Petch was joint fastest on only one stage but critically was not beaten by Black on any stage, taking victory by 11 seconds in the end. Black was having to keep an eye on Jamie Anderson & Ross Whittock (Fiesta R5) who completed the podium, just 7 seconds further back. Read More »
