A wet and wild Wales Rally GB saw Ott Tänak & Martin Järveoja (Yaris WRC) consolidate their championship lead with a fine victory on the muddy tracks. Tänak set 7 fastest stage times but with Thierry Neuville & Nicolas Gilsoul (i20 Coupe WRC) consistently on the pace the winning margin was only 10.9s. Reigning champions Sébastien Ogier & Julien Ingrassia (C3 WRC) had been the ones pushing Tänak through the early parts of the rally but they slipped back to third and finished a further 12.9s back. With just over a minute covering the top 6 overall it really was a close event.

A fourth consecutive podium for the C3 WRC as Ogier-Ingrassia finish as runners-up in Corsica

Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia’s strict determination helped them to secure their third podium of the season in Corsica and Citroën Total World Rally Team’s fourth podium finish in as many races this year. Their hard-earned second place takes them to within two points of the top of the drivers’ World Championship. Meanwhile, Esapekka Lappi and Janne Ferm finished seventh overall, helping to consolidate Citroën’s second place in the manufacturers’ standings and racking up important miles in the C3 WRC at an all-asphalt event.

C3 WRC sets sail for Corsica

The home event of the Citroën Total World Rally Team, and round four of the 2019 WRC season in Corsica, is the first rally to be contested on clean tarmac this year. Hopes are therefore high for the French team, with major changes made to the route, expected to suit the crews of Sébastien Ogier – Julien Ingrassia and Esapekka Lappi – Janne Ferm.

Citroën secures its second win of the season with Ogier & Ingrassia

Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia produced an incredibly calm and collected performance on Sunday’s final leg to claim their second win from three events in 2019. The C3 WRC has now finished on the podium at every round since the start of the season in Monte-Carlo. The win also means Citroën Racing has extended its record for the most wins at Rally Mexico to eight.

The C3 WRC heads for the clouds

The 2019 season hosts its first gravel event this weekend at Rally Mexico, where the Citroën Total World Rally Team crews Sébastien Ogier / Julien Ingrassia and Esapekka Lappi / Janne Ferm will tackle the invariably hot, high altitude roads around León. Following a successful start to the season, the team’s crews will be determined to score their third consecutive podium.

Rally Mexico is an unusual event, with characteristics (namely heat and high altitude) that are not encountered elsewhere on the calendar, making it a completely unique experience. Citroën Total WRT however, is certainly not short on experience in Central America.

Citroën secures second consecutive podium as Lappi-Ferm finish as runners-up

Esapekka Lappi and Janne Ferm produced a highly impressive performance this weekend to secure their first podium finish for Citroën Total WRT. Fiercely holding off the attacks of their competitive rivals during Sunday’s final leg in their C3 WRC, the Finnish duo ended the rally in second place overall. Meanwhile, recent winners of the Rallye Monte-Carlo, Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia used all of their talent and determination to scoop two bonus points on the Power Stage, despite the disappointment of retiring earlier in the rally.

Whilst Sweden is currently hosting the world skiing championship, it is also preparing to be thrilled by a different set of acrobatic talents this week.
