Arron Newby claimed his second victory of 2023 on Saturday (15 April) as he took his Skoda Fabia R5 to a convincing Rallynuts Stages Rally win.

Less than 6 months after the last Rallynuts Stages Rally, the MRF Tyres BTRDA Championship were back in mid-Wales. Matthew Hirst & Declan Dear (Fiesta R5) set a superb time through the opening stage, 15s faster than 2021 rally winners Elliot Payne & Patrick Walsh (Fiesta Rally2). This was followed by another stage win through Hafren to take a 23s lead into service. Ian Bainbridge & Tom Woodburn (Fabia R5) were fastest on stage 3 to snatch 2nd place from Payne. The final round of the MRF Tyres BTRDA Championship saw Garry Pearson & Niall Burns (Fabia R5) confirm their 3rd championship title of 2021. They came home 3rd just edging out Ian Bainbridge & Will Atkins (Fabia R5) for the final podium place. At the front it was a battle between Elliott Payne & Patrick Walsh (Fiesta Rally2) and Callum Black & Tom Woodburn (Fiesta R5). Payne took the honours through Myherin to establish an early lead, which he did not lose for the rest of the event. The Rallynuts Stages Rally returns to the British rallying calendar for the first time since 2019 this weekend as the popular gravel event blasts back into life on Saturday [13 November].

Forced to take a two-year sabbatical due to the pandemic, the Builth Wells based event has seen a one-off move from its traditional April slot in 2021 due to the restrictions imposed earlier this year.
