Osian Pryce will once again contest his home round of the Fuchs Lubricants Motorsport UK British Historic Rally Championship, the 2WD Rally North Wales, in a 1978 Escort Mk2 – as a fun day’s rallying to “fill the gap” whilst his 2019 rally plans are being finalised.

The 26-year old Machynlleth-born driver contested his local event last year, making an impressive historic rally debut by holding a strong second position at mid-distance before a rear puncture saw him finish in fourth place. He also finished third overall (second 2WD) in the Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship standings, which maintained his overall lead in the series at the time. Read More »

Dolgellau based event, Rally North Wales launches this week with organisers of the popular forest rally announcing a streamlined format that caters for both competitors and rally fans on the 30th March event.

More details on the events in the the 2019 FUCHS LUBRICANTS Motorsport UK British Historic Rally Championship have been announced for a seven-event calendar covering both gravel and asphalt events.

The special award winners from the opening round of the 2018 FUCHS LUBRICANTS MSA British Historic Rally Championship, Rally North Wales (Saturday 24 March), have been announced.

Ken Davies and Alan Jones collected the award for the ‘Best Improvement on Seeding’, which is a set of axle brake pads from Mintex. They had a good run in their Volvo Amazon to finish 43rd among the historic finishers. Read More »

Nick Elliott and Dave Price got the FUCHS LUBRICANTS MSA British Historic Rally Championship off to a fantastic start on Rally North Wales (Saturday 24 March) with a mighty historic victory at the head of a tremendous field.

As well as being the first of eight BHRC rounds, Rally North Wales was also the first round of the BHRC Forest Challenge, supported by Rally and Competition Equipment, and the opening event for the new BHRC2, supported by Sherwood Engines. Sam Bilham enjoyed a positive debut behind the wheel of a new Vauxhall ADAM Cup car last weekend at Rally North Wales (24th March), taking the impressive machine to second in class M3 and 11th modern crew home at the Dolgellau based event. Read More »

Osian Pryce made an impressive historic rally debut on the 2WD Rally North Wales, holding a strong second position mid-way through the six stage event in his first rally in a 1978 Escort Mk2. A rear puncture on SS4 then cost him a minute, but he still managed to finish fourth overall on his first ever MSA British Historic Rally Championship outing. He also finished third overall (second 2WD) in the Pirelli MSA Welsh Rally Championship standings to maintain his overall lead in the series.

Co-driven by Dale Furniss, Osian had won Rally North Wales last year and was keen to tackle his local rally again – but this time by fulfilling a boyhood dream of contesting a rally in an iconic Escort Mk2, which he’d hired from Suffolk-based specialists RallyXtreme. Read More »

Nick Elliott and Dave Price took a dominant two wheel drive victory at the North Wales Rally Services – Rally North Wales today (24th March), with Dylan Davies and Llion Williams picking up the four wheel drive win at the re-vamped event.

The 60th running of the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club organised rally saw a shift in format for the 2018 event as over 120 crews headed to Dolgellau for the opening round of the Fuchs MSA British Historic Rally Championship, Rally2 series and second round of the Pirelli MSA Welsh Rally Championship. The 2018 Rally North Wales was the first event to run to the new Rally2 format and it proved a success. With the BHRC and 2WD running through the stages first it proved to be a battle between the Ford Escort MkII’s. On the first stage though Ieuan Rowlands & Emyr Hall were fastest in the Avenger but retirement on stage 2 saw the normal Escort MkII order restored with Nick Elliott taking over the lead, despite Ryan Barrett going fastest through stage 2. Elliott, co-driven by Dave Price, was then fastest on stage 3 to take a 13 second lead in to service.
