Two reunions for historic stage rally cars will be held next year, during Rally North Wales in March and the Red Kite Stages in June.

The pair of gravel rallies will run to the new Rally 2WD format and the team behind Rally 2WD is working to encourage as many historic crews as possible to support these Historic Reunion events in particular.

Rally North Wales (Saturday 24 March) and the Red Kite Stages (Saturday 23 June) will offer historic crews the best possible stage conditions by running all the two-wheel drive mileage ahead of the four-wheel drive cars and the plan is to build significant historic entries by making these two rallies a celebration of historic rallying on gravel. Rally North Wales will be the first rally to be organised to the new Rally 2WD format when the popular event runs in classic Welsh forests on Saturday 24 March.

The TV coverage of the opening two rounds of the Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship will first be screened on Tuesday 18 April at 9am on Motorsport TV.

The first programme will cover all the action form the Red Kite Stages and Rally North Wales as Nick Elliott and Dave Price took an impressive pair of wins to take the early championship advantage.

While the championship will again feature in regular dedicated programmes on Motorsport TV, an increasing focus is being placed onto on-line content, including mini-features, editorials, previews and swift post-event summaries. The special award winners from the second round of the 2017 Mintex MSA British Historic Rally Championship, Rally North Wales (Saturday 1 April) have been announced.

For the second event running, David Hopkins and Tony Vart collected the award for the ‘Best Improvement on Seeding’, which is a set of axle brake pads from Mintex. They started 31st among the historic crews but made tremendous progress to finish a class-winning 18th in the historic field. Read More »

Dolgellau star Osian Pryce and co-driver Dale Furniss secured a dominant victory at this weekend’s North Wales Rally Services Rally North Wales (1st April) at the wheel of their Ford Fiesta R5.

Fresh from a podium spot at the opening round of the MSA British Rally Championship, Pryce was fastest on each of the events six stages to win by a margin of over 1m 20sec from second placed Euan Thorburn and Paul Beaton in a similar machine. Read More »

Once again Rally North Wales saw wet weather start the day before it was all change in the afternoon. Fastest times on all six stages saw Osian Pryce & Dale Furniss (Fiesta R5) take victory by over a minute. Euan Thorburn & Paul Beaton (Fiesta R5) were 2nd fastest on all the stages to secure 2nd place with Dylan Davies & Llion Williams (Impreza) just over 50 seconds further back, completing the podium. Dolgellau based event used to gather data on economy during the rally weekend.

This year’s North Wales Rally Services  – Rally North Wales will be used as a pilot event to gather information on the local economy during the weekend. Conducted by The Welsh Association of Motor Clubs, the study will be used to gain a valuable insight into the economic value a motor rally brings to the area during an event. Read More »

Around 100 drivers from across the country will head to Dolgellau this weekend as the North Wales Rally Services – Rally North Wales welcomes a raft of top-line championships to the 1st April event.

The Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club organised rally returns to the market town once again in 2017 after two successful years in the region. With competitors tackling stages made famous by the World Rally Championship finale’ Wales Rally GB, the Dyfi and Gartheiniog forest complex will see action from crews in a wide variety of machinery during the 45 mile event.
