The 2020 calendar for the FUCHS LUBRICANTS Motorsport UK British Historic Rally Championship has been unveiled.

The schedule, which grows from seven rounds in 2019 to eight events in 2020, takes in five gravel events and three asphalt events, including two major closed-road rallies. New to the schedule is the Jim Clark Rally in May, which returns to the calendar after a break and offers outstanding closed-road stages in the Scottish borders. Read More »

Nick Elliott and Dave Price got their season off to a flying start by taking maximum points in the opening round of the FUCHS LUBRICANTS Motorsport UK British Historic Rally Championship, Rally North Wales (Saturday March 30).

The forests of Wales were in prime condition and there was even dust as a bumper historic entry gathered in Dolgellau. Elliott and Price always headed the BHRC contenders, although Joe Price/Chris Brooks were never far adrift as a fine performance from Stanley Orr/Grahame Henderson netted third overall and Category 2 victory. British Rally Championship ace Marty McCormack swapped his Tiger Risk Skoda Fabia R5 for a Historic specification Ford Escort MK2 last weekend, recovering from a lowly opening stage position to secure fifth place at Rally North Wales in Dolgellau (30th March). Read More »

Osian Pryce was in a class of his own on the Rally North Wales National A event, setting fastest time on all eight stages to win his home event by 37 seconds in his RallyXtreme-prepared BDA-engined Ford Escort Mk2.

Seeded at number two, Osian started 48th on the road as the 49-car field ran in reverse order. Co-driven by Dale Furniss, the talented 26-year old Machynlleth-born driver made a fantastic start by setting the fastest time through the opening 8.5 mile Dyfi stage. Read More »

Local hero Osian Pryce secured a start-to-finish National A victory whilst Matthew Hirst enjoyed his maiden rally win in the National B category, at Saturday’s North Wales Rally Services – Rally North Wales (30th March) in Dolgellau. Read More »

After a week of unseasonably dry and warm weather across the UK saw the Dyfi complex in perfect condition for the largely 2WD field. Dust could pose a problem though and with the 2WD reverse seeded then the top runners would not be immune. Osian Pryce & Dale Furniss (Escort MkII) set the stages alight going fastest through all 8 stages, albeit joint fastest time on the final stage. Their victory margin was 37s over Nick Elliott & Dave Price with Joe Price & Chris Brooks a further 34s back, completing an all Escort MkII podium. Stanley Orr & Grahame Henderson (Escort MkI) took category 2 in 4th overall whilst Ken Davies & Alan Jones (Amazon) were victorious in category 1. Read More »

Osian Pryce will once again contest his home round of the Fuchs Lubricants Motorsport UK British Historic Rally Championship, the 2WD Rally North Wales, in a 1978 Escort Mk2 – as a fun day’s rallying to “fill the gap” whilst his 2019 rally plans are being finalised.

The 26-year old Machynlleth-born driver contested his local event last year, making an impressive historic rally debut by holding a strong second position at mid-distance before a rear puncture saw him finish in fourth place. He also finished third overall (second 2WD) in the Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship standings, which maintained his overall lead in the series at the time. Read More »

Dolgellau based event, Rally North Wales launches this week with organisers of the popular forest rally announcing a streamlined format that caters for both competitors and rally fans on the 30th March event.

Sponsored once again by North Wales Rally Services, the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire Car Club organised event, will offer 45 miles of top-quality stages in the Dyfi and Gartheiniog forest complex, just a few miles away from the rally base at Dolgellau Farmers Market. Read More »
