As the crews head off to make their all-important pace-notes on the Jim Clark Rally, spare a thought for the pundits who try to predict the outcome of the BRC’s RallyTwo Championship.

Like the battle for the prestigious solid silver MSA British Rally Championship trophy, it will be an intense one on the Scottish Borders lanes. And like the fight at the front, it will be dreadfully difficult to decide who might win.

Drayson Elec LSRDrayson Racing Technologies today announces it will make an attempt for the FIA World Electric Land Speed Record on June 25 at RAF Elvington in Yorkshire. It’s the latest challenge to be undertaken by the pioneering electric motorsport firm, which has been at the forefront of sustainable racing since 2007 and was first to sign up for the new FIA Formula E championship.

The attempt will be made in the sub-1000kg class by entrepreneur, racing driver and former UK science minister Lord Drayson who will drive a low-drag version of the Drayson B12 69/EV electric Le-Mans Prototype flat-out along Elvington’s 1.86-mile runway. Read More »

Under glorious sunshine, over 8,000 people enjoyed two fantastic days of racing at Motorsport at the Palace, in association with the Ancaster Group.

As the Mayor of Bromley, Cllr. Ernest Noad and his wife Diane waved off the first cars under bright blue skies, it was clear this year’s event would be one to savour. Race fans and casual visitors alike witnessed some spectacular on-track action, which saw the previous lap record smashed and class records tumble across the board.

Existing record holder Gary Thomas, driving a Force PT, shaved almost a second off his previous best time, powering his way around the course in just 32.87 seconds. Read More »
