The Motorsport Safety Fund has decided to wind up its operations and hand its training resources over to the UK motorsport’s governing body, the MSA.

The organisation’s remaining funds will be transferred to the British Motor Sport Training Trust once the winding up process is complete.

Fund chairman, Dr Ian Roberts, said: “The Fund has made a major contribution to motorsport safety in the 45 years since it was established, following the death of Roger Williamson during the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort.

“However, recent developments in training and motorsport technology have led us to conclude that, if we continued, we would end up attempting to duplicate the activities of national and international organisations that have greater resources and access to technical expertise.” Read More »

Leading motorsport and technology company chief and former World Rally Championship-winning co-driver David Richards is to deliver the 2018 Motorsport Safety Fund’s Watkins Lecture at the Autosport International show.
