Truly grim weather conditions blighted the Epynt military ranges for the Mewla rally, for the penultimate round of the Protyre MSA Asphalt Championship. Jason Pritchard & Phil Clarke (Focus WRC) set the fastest stage times on the first loop of 3 stages and it proved to be a lead they never relinquished. Damian Cole & Jamie Edwards (Fiesta WRC) did keep Pritchard honest with two fastest stage times on the next loop of 3 but with only a handful of seconds separating their stage times for the rest of the event, the initial 17s lead became a 26s victory. A packed Silverstone saw Toyota dominate the Silverstone 6hrs with the no8 TS050 of Fernando Alonso, Sébastien Buemi & Kazuki Nakajima taking victory from the no7 sister car, or so it seemed. Post event scrutineering saw the Toyota’s disqualified and it was the no3 Rebellion of Mathias Beche, Thomas Laurent & Gustavo Menezes took victory from the no1 Rebellion of Neel Jani & André Lotterer. Another packed weekend at Silverstone saw the ELMS take centre stage on the Saturday. With the 4 hour race usually a hard one to call it proved to be three in a row for the no26 G-Drive Racing Oreca-Gibson of Roman Rusinov, Andrea Pizzitola and Jean-Eric Vergne to extend their championship lead. Vergne took the chequered flag one lap ahead of the no21 Dragonspeed Oreca of Nico Lapierre and the no28 IDEC Sport Oreca of Paul Lafargue.  United Autosports took their first LMP3 win of the 2018 season with the no3 Ligier of Tony Wells, Matt Bell and Garret Grist taking the top spot ahead of the no7 Ecurie Ecosse / Nielsen Ligier and the no17 Ultimate Norma. Fantastic weather conditions bathed the Otterburn ranges for the Tyneside Stages Rally. Peter Taylor & Andrew Roughead (Fiesta WRC) were car 1 and they utterly dominated the event, going fastest on all 12 stages and taking victory by over 2 minutes. Rory Young & Allan Cathers (Fiesta R5) were 2nd fastest on all 12 stages so took a deserved runners up place with Gordon Morrison & Calum MacPherson (Impreza) a further 50 seconds back, in third place. 1st 2WD crew home and a superb 4th overall were Ross Brusby & Sam Collis (Escort MkII) just 23s off a podium place.
